So that I could comment on 7.2.3.2b, I tried it to burn 3 AVI flies which I had successfully burned using version 7.0.8.2, sadly each burn was unsatisfactory so I reverted to 7.0.8.2, tried them again with success…my conclusion..7.2.3.2b was a failure when it comes to burn AVI files. I did the following, uninstalled 7.2.3.2b, ran this clean tool http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html and then installed 7.0.8.2 from here http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845 Update firmware to 1.23 from here http://wwwbsc.pioneer.co.jp/product-e/ibs/device_e/file/DVR111D_FW123EU.EXE You have Roxio installed, it clashes with Nero, to remove, run this zapper http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml
Does this mean you used exactly the amount of room on the disc, or did Nero just stop counting and you are actually using more? Can you burn with smaller files?
hi again, having a few problems...did the clean nero thing but when i follow link to nero 7.0.8.2 and it runs i get message that i still have a newer version and it goes no further. not i dont know what i have done as i dont even have nero on my PC anymore and if i load my nero 7.2.3.2 back i will be back at square one. i do think the firmware went ok, and i did what i could with the roxio zap....so i guess next step is to try and get 7.0.8.2 onto my PC. will post back asap thanks, Andy
First step is uninstall Nero, go to add/remove programs, remove, then run clean tool. If when downloading Nero7 it shows as Demo, heres what Nero says about that.
did the remove did the clean did a reboot downloaded nero 7082 to PC and still same got message "there is a newer version of nero on your system please uninstall" but i have nothing i can not find nero at all, i am just putting my nero 7232 back on as i need to burn some CDs today arghhh i hate computers

Since the file you are trying to burn is too large, have you tried a smaller file? It appears all the burns you have done so far have been with the same file.
its a dvd i have done lots of times so i thought it should be ok...i also just put my old 105 in and it has just done a copy, all very strange i have no idea at all
How about posting a log of the good burn to compare. Other than that, the only other thing I might mention would be the ASPI drivers you have installed. This is a delicate subject and no one seems to know exactly what would or would not cause problems. I will have to leave it to you to do some research and decide if you want to try something. I know WinXP doesn't use ASPI drivers, so you have to get them somewhere else. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=302810 The drivers may be for one of your other drives, or left over from another install. If you can't find anything else, you might check.
This is the only thing I can see thats wrong with your log, these are horrible discs, try Verbatim or Sony (made in japan), heres a thread about CMC Mag discs http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/262544
