Please help, what other programs do I need to BURN DVD movies?

Last year, I got a new PC, and a friend of mine installed numerous things to enable me to Download, Watch and BURN DVDs!!!! Now I've just got a new PC, and can't locate my buddy....PLEASE HELP!!!!

What do I need to download?
Here are some things I can remember;
uTorrent (to download the torrents) = I've got
Nero 7 Premium (to burn the files) - I've got

But I think I need;
DAEMONS program?? (It enabled me to open .bin files and drag .DAT movie into Nero to burn)

Codecs to play avi files??

Please help where I can get these and what all I need.

Ive installed DT, but its not mounting/opening bin files still? do I need to configure something? Please help.
