Now that we have the info on Nero heres what you should do. Uninstall the version of Nero you have, run this clean tool, http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/en/Clean_Tools.html to remove ALL traces and then install THIS version of Nero http://httpdl2.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe It in my opinion has NOTHING to do with AnyDVD Once you have done this I am sure your problems will be solved. The version of Nero you are using is full of bugs and has been causing LOTS of problems, the version I have recommended is completely BUG FREE
Thank You VERY much I will do what you suggested and see what happens. I will get back to you in the morning for I have to sign out for now. But THANX again for your help.
@shortymum Check & make sure your cables are not loose. Is your drive on a separate ide cable? How about the firmware? Up to date? Try Nero 6.6.0.18 that gwen listed and if it does this again post the last nero log. Located at program files>ahead>nero>nero history.txt. Make sure you edit the serial #.
Gwendolin I can't get the second link to open so I can save it and download it. The first link opened just fine.
@shortymum Don't know if anyone has asked but, @ what speeds are you writting onto disk ? What media are you using ?
I still need help. I did as gwendolin said to do and now I don't have nero recode it didn't download with the rest from the link she gave me. Also when I started my computer up it states that I now don't have a DVD to ANYDVD.
I went ahead and did what gwendoline said todo use the nero clean tools and then installed the nero 6.6.0.18 and now I don't have nero recode and now when I start up it says in a ANYDVD window that I don't have a dvd drive detected.
@shortymum Recode is in a separate download package like tmfloria gave. Here's a link for package 2 for the 6.6.0.18 version: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe If your drive is not being detected your can first try uninstalling and reinstalling AnyDVD. If that doesn't help next I would try uninstalling your ide controllers & let windows reinstall after rebooting. If all that fails install the drive from device manager and again let windows reinstall. Here's a step by step guide: http://my.afterdawn.com/alkohol/blog_entry.cfm/231/dmaissues
Thank you so much for the link to nero recode. I have tried to back up a movie and it is recoding it and burning it but half way through I am now having trouble with the movie freezing. So at this point I have uninstalled my nero programs and have installed nero 6.6.0.18 and also the link for nero recode and have uninstalled ANYDVD and reinstalled it. So I now need help with why the back up is freezing upon play back.
@shortymum Playback problems can be due to a few things. So let's find these out and go from there. *what speed are you burning the sony's at? * in Nero ToolKit pop a blank one in and go to Info Tool>disc tab. Who's the manufacturer? *Next what's the make & model of your drive? This will also be listed in the info tool. Give us the firmware version also. It will be on the drive tab next to firmware version.
In The info tools in nero it states that there is no disc inserted in my burner but the disc that I have in there is a Sony+R and it is made in Japan. My drive is a Iomega Super DVD the firmware version is A301
@shortymum How about your burn speed on the movie you had problems w/ - what was that? Since your drive isn't recognizing the blank it sounds like that could be why you've had problems. What's the model # also?
I have refreshed the nero tool device and now it is showing the info for my disc and it states that manufacture is YUDEN000 T02
@shortymum Those Taiyo Yudens are great stuff! It's what I mainly use with a occasional verbatim. Sometimes you have to give it a minute or so for the disc to be read and give the info. I'm having a hard time seeing if there's a firmware update available for you drive & Iomega website is not the most useful. The firmware helps the drive w/ read/write of media esp. newer media. So try slowing the burn speed done to 4x and see if your player likes that. Players can be quite picky w/ media.
Thank you for your help. I am trying a burn at 4X's right now. I will let you know if it works. After installing the new nero I was trying to do it the way I have done it all along and never had any trouble with it before and then all of a sudden I couldn't burn anything at all.
@shortymum Not a prob. On 1 pc I do burning on I use the 6.6.1.4 w/ recode and use TY's - no problems - but everyones setup & specs are different so it's finding what works for you. Hopefully the 4x will do the trick for your player. If it doesn't trying playing it back in the pc to isolate the problem. I also clean my lens w/ a lens cleaner every so often in my drives and players. They can get dusty which can sometimes cause some problems. Let us know how it turns out!
Hi there it is me again. I have tried burning at 4X and that didn't work so then I cleaned the lenses in my player and burner and that still didn't make a difference either. The DVD goes through all the processes and ejcts the dvd out of the burner and says it has completed successfully. The burnt dvd will not play in a stand alone dvd player or in the dvd rom on my pc.
@shortymum Well your using good media - major +. TY is very good and has been very good to me - on many different players no issues. So that may not be an issue. Next question can the burner play it w/ no problems? Then let's go to the Nero log - post that (the last one) - it can be found here - program files>ahead>nero>nerohistory.txt. Be sure to edit out you'll serial # -begins w/1A or 1C. BTW when you uninstalled your drive and software was it due to the problem your having? Internal burner or external burner?
