I think my Starv*ev box is a clone and i keep getting scrambled or bad channel.
i recently bought some instructions of fleabay that tells me how to get rid off this scrambled or bad channel.
I was just wondering if i need a RS232 lead or the Serial Null Modem to update my box and to connect with pc.
    Please help.
    thanks.

Count the vents on the top of the box to see if it is a clone or genuine S******w.

    18 slots x 7 rows = clone
    25 " x 7 rows = genuine

To update you box you'll need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F.
You can get info on the cable at this site: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6

This link is only for reference as it can be purchased alot cheaper on fleabay.
All firmware can be found in Eamo's library click on this link to get to it: http://eko.4shared.com/

You will need the GTromloader, (Starview Software Uploader), found in the Starview software folder of the link.

You will need version 2.57_FIXED firmware for your clone S******w which can be found in firmware folder.

You should also download the Starview PDF guide this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything. This can be found in the Starview Documentation folder in the link.
This should fix your box for you.

On the other hand you could buy a genuine S******w and save yourself the hassle- :) LOL.
