    cnp - sorry no experience with that :(

    Shoey - I just ran a couple of tests with BW5.1.1 (the version offered on VSO's website. What happened to 5.5?). The PX-708A and Premium both extract topo now, but it still won't write varirec with the PX-708A.

    I managed to make a copy of a SecuRom 4.84 disc with the Premium that plays in my LTD-166.

    Shoey, I've since had a quick chat with VSOPhillip over at cdfreaks and he stated that the 708 can't write varirate like the Premuim can, so I guess I unfairly bashed BW5 in my earlier post for not being able to write varirate. I was operating under the assumption that VariRec and varirate were one and the same. Oh well, I've since purchased BW5 and it works like a charm with the Premium :)

    Also, what exactly is the difference between varirate and VariRec?

    Success with the 708a as a burner and a cd+g reader.
    Only with certain software!

    Nephilim, when you made the backup of Call of Duty, do you need a or use maybe the word to use, any emulation to make it work, or is it a TRUE 1:1 COPY just like the original.This is talk about the Plextor Px-708A no longer being a 2 Sheep burner, because they say it can't copy anything after 2.80 safe disc. But if you have made a true working copy of COD then were back into the game as it were.

    Hi everybody,

    I'm new at this forum, hope I can learn from you and of course help everybody :).
    I read a threat at cdfreaks where a link to your thread was posted, I hope it also works for you!

    So here is my result for a succesful backup of Safedisc 3.15 protectet games with no emulation.

    Game: Universal Combat (Safedisc 3.15.010)
    Device: read and write with my plex premium fw 1.05

    [BW5]
    decrypt=0
    weaksector=1
    autoplay=0
    maxreadspeed=1411
    cdwritespeed=2117
    dvdwritespeed=2117
    onreaderror=0
    subfordata=-1
    subforaudio=-1
    topologyread=0
    writetopology=0
    topologyspeed=2117
    profilename=Safedisc3

    Works in my plex and my pioneer with hide atip.
    If you're looking for more BW5 profiles perhaps this link helps you http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?s=acde9f5fc36bcfb85dae7e0d828c7fbf&threadid=87761
