    hi phat1
i think the F Card is an updated version of the firecard. (not sure though) but without the slot 2 usb connection bit.

all the ds flash cart. is very similar, ie they all have a system files/os/firmware. your cart should have it already installed. if not, goto manufacturer website for download. (its in chinese, so u need google translate).

just add your game roms (game.nds) to the card, plug it in ds and select your game and plays.

    Phat1.
dont try to open the xmenu on the PC..it doesnt work that way, old chap.
so-far you have plugged the F-card into the USB port(the F-card is the one with the little blue card-reader, right?)
plug it in....hear the PC go 'bee-boop'...F-card is now 'removable drive X'...
the XMENU is already in the F-card?
theres nothing more you need to do.
'safely remove hardware'...plug into DS. turn on.
it will create the system folder when you do this.
you will see an empty menu on screen, with a wee bear down the bottom.
that means everything is in order.
turn off DS....plug F-card into PC....send games to 'removable drive'
.& thats it...'safely remove hardware', plug into DS...turn on...play games.
    .
1 more thing...back-up the xmenu.dat file to your PC...in a month or so you'll be glad you did.

when your f card is connected to your pc, it shows up as a external drive, so in 'My Computer' you will see the files just like any other files on your computer. simply copy and paste it to a safe place.

the game save files have a .sav ie 'gamename.sav' (may not be .sav, my memory is fuzzy,) all game names is 'gamename1.nds', so the save file is 'gamename1.sav'

supercard ds one uses a different system files, system files on CD included, so no need to save it. (but can download from the net), save files is same as above.

can i suggest you read my blogs, its a brief guide regarding the ds1

you will need a micro sd card. 2gb is good for about 50 games.
