Just as long as you remember that in-game teams are different than teams designed for competitive battling. Your biggest difference is the HM. For in-game play you will need access to cut, fly, defog, rock climb, etc. that nobody uses for a battling team. One common approach is an "HM Slave". A Golem with Rock Climb, Rock Smash, Strengh, and Cut or Flash for example. Not much use out of game but very useful in-game.
