can anyone advize me on this problem,it is a friend of mine, here is what he sent me in an e-mail today..

Is there any optimizer freeware you can get to clean your computer thoroughly. This f..... of a thing is starting to give problems. It constantly shuts out of things you are viewing and an optimizer thing comes up on screen. When you try to ignore it by shutting it, it tries to go to download. Yesterday none of us could sign in and a microsoft box with different options came up. I had to phone them on the number that was on screen, and they gave me code numbers to put into computer to start it up again. (I take it that was rebooting it?) Hopefully an optimizer would clean problems on computer to stop this happening.

Boot up in Safe Mode and run virus and ad-aware scans.
