Hi all, may sound a little odd, but Ive just been thinking about it a bit recently, what would be the possibility of setting up your dbox as a cable modem and using that to access the net...when Ive done full channel scans before it picks up a 'Data' channel. Would this be feasible or not? Cheers.

no not possible, as i think i have figured it what happens is.

all a dbox does is receive and show the channels where as ntl/telewest stb's lock onto a particular frequency and are assigned a particular ip address on the network with 2 mac addresses one for the stb and one for the modem. hope that clears something up for you.

ps i know the latter as i am a cable tech.
