ok guys heres a new one for me.
i got a 8gb ativa usb thunm drive. i had a couple movies saved on my HP system. so i copied 1 of them over onto the USB drive and plugged it into my card reader and then used it like a regular drive and burned the movie from it. i used imageburn and burnt at 8x with the 7220S onto a tdk 16x-r(cmc mag am3) for what the media is its a pretty decent scan... this is scaned on the 7220S. im scanning it now on the 20A4p. it took the same amount of time pulling from the usb drive as my other drives.

This was a 7200A burn, by the way :) I have a 7200S I can play with now too :D

I dont usually do this myself, but since you tried it, I had to try myself. Dvdshrink, Has shown transfer speeds in excess of 16,000Kbs from the kingston 16gb Flashdrive to Velociraptor! Which I believe passes 12X. This was an attempt at 12X. It failed at 10.5X! Well...not really failed. It simply buffer underran. So it would appear, 8X is quite comfortable. Which is fine and good. The verbs are ok with 8X. The TYG03 I prefer to burn at 12X +!

O-man7 those are both good burns (scans) if you ask me. ;) I only have a 4GB flash drive and want a 16GB+ sometime in the future. They is getting cheap now too. :) Anyway the burn at 10x or whatever is a quality burn and NOTHING to sneeze at fo sho. Good job buddy. :)

Heres a 12X TYG03. What do you wanna bet, that a 16X burn will yield a better score. Its VERY typical. This media really likes faster burn speeds. Though with every F/W revision(or new burners) burn quality is better!

By the way. Loving this Phenom! My encode time for this was EXTREMELY fast! 6:45 counting deep analysis, and AEC! The disc is 65% of original. It is however just a childrens movie sooo...I dont use Rebuilder for just anyone :)

Thanks CincyRob-just what I needed an new Opt-NEC SATA AD 7240 drive- you see what greensman has done to me. I knew I should have gone to bed.

I love my AD 7200 so I guess this will be as good. I plan to use it as a spare. Altho I may try it in the Lite_On 20A1S's slot.

LOL, you win some, and you lose some. I heard bad things and good things about those drives. I guess you never know until you try um for yourself!

Heres a 16X burn via 7200S TYG03 (watershield)! They're always watershields. A little disappointed but not really. This burner hasnt seen much yet soo...its not that bad. My new sammy has it beat. But im sure with a proper Firmware, the Optiarc could do the same! It after all does hold the best burn for Yuden T02!!!
