I haven't seen any physical flaws thanfully, but the burn quality is definitely lacking from what im used to! I sure hope that this is simply a hiccup in their quality control. The very name Verbatim means an exact copy, or Perfection (Perhaps a stretch). In a sense, they should be trying for AT LEAST equality to Taiyo Yuden! Im probably over reacting here LOL!

I wonder if this is the next Lite-on Freak. Freak of course being a GOOD thing LOL! I sure wouldn't mind my first Blu-Ray Rom/burner being comparable to the LH-20A1H/S. Sure is spendy though. I'd probably buy it right now if it were only $150. Perhaps black friday... :)

    Oman7 didn't you ask about a blu-ray reader/burner?? ;)

    here's my suggestion. ;)

    LG WH08LS20K

LG builds brilliant burners but they don't scan or any of that... BURNING is there soul objective, even tho they do read well too. ;)

Yes, I asked LOL! Im pretty patient. And if it was overlooked, or simply no one knew, no big deal. I won't be buying one til black friday ;) Thanks for the suggestion. I've been eyeing that LG as well :) While I would like a lite-on, it would not bother me to buy an LG first. I get the feeling that some of the first generation BD burners/Readers are gonna be real die hards! :D

    Prolly true. ;)

I didn't ask if you were gonna burn Blu-Ray or not. ;) If you're just gonna read it and convert it to DVD format then a Liteon reader (combo Blu-Ray drive) will do nicely. :)

changed things up here. instead of burning with imageburn, i used nero to create and scan. did this on my liteon 20A4P. a 12x burn. not bad at all. you can tell at the end once it got up to the 12x speed i started to get more pie's but still a awsome burn.

think i might take this one over to cdfreaks and see if it qualifies for a WOF....

    EDIT:
i couldnt leave the 7200S out of the fun.. good scan better than most but not as good as the others i just posted.

Yeah I'm not too keen on the Verb 004s either. I did burn a few @20X yesterday and got a 93 on the one I scanned -burned on the fly with Nero Express
