    Don't usually burn with the LH-20A1H. Its seen a great many deal of discs. Not bad for its age I suppose. Freakishly low jitter, however erratic. Im sure it'll play fine ;) Scanned by both iHAP and LH20A1H.

    @ omegaman7

    Have a valium on me. Not to worry about those 004s. To be honest I couldn't tell a 95 from a 85 during playback and probably a 75 too. They all play really nice for me. LMAO! It's like taking blood sugar-the readings are all over the place within a 30min period and on which finger it's taken.

    ROFL.. ;) I don't like the "block" in the middle but everything else seems well within tolerances. :) I bet they'll last ye for years of service with nothing to worry about. ;)

    Here's a new scan, another 8x burn on the Optiarc7200S

    [IMG]

    Not exactly a new media code, it's been around a couple of years, it's the 067 version of the D01.

    For chuckles and grins I dropped one in my Samsung 203B and looky what showed up in the ImgBurn log:

    I 18:10:48 Source File: -==/\/[BUILD IMAGE]\/\==-
    I 18:10:48 Source File Sectors: 3,766,496 (MODE1/2048)
    I 18:10:48 Source File Size: 7,713,783,808 bytes
    I 18:10:48 Source File Volume Identifier: 7_Deadly_Sins_Disc_1
    I 18:10:48 Source File Application Identifier: IMGBURN V2.5.0.0 - THE ULTIMATE IMAGE BURNER!
    I 18:10:48 Source File Implementation Identifier: ImgBurn
    I 18:10:48 Source File File System(s): ISO9660, UDF (1.02)
    I 18:10:48 Destination Device: [1:1:0] TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S203B SB04 (T:) (ATA)
    I 18:10:48 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: RICOHJPN-D01-67) (Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 12x, 16x)

    A 16x burn on an 8x rated DL!

    And of course I had to give it a try:

    I 18:10:48 Write Mode: DVD
    I 18:10:48 Write Type: DAO
    I 18:10:48 Write Speed: 16x
    I 18:10:48 Link Size: Auto
    I 18:10:48 Lock Volume: Yes
    I 18:10:48 Test Mode: No
    I 18:10:48 OPC: Yes
    I 18:10:48 BURN-Proof: Enabled

    I 18:22:01 Export Successfully Completed!
    I 18:22:01 Operation Successfully Completed! - Duration: 00:11:13

    Success!!! An 11 minute, 13 sec burn of a DL!

    How do you like these burn rates:

    I 18:22:01 Average Write Rate: 14,431 KB/s (10.4x) - Maximum Write Rate: 21,442 KB/s (15.5x)

    Regretfully I couldn't get a scan out of it, but it was fun to try! Maybe if I run several discs through the Sammy I can get it used to burning these and then try the high speeds.......

    Here's a new one, kind of a shorty, but the PIEs and PIFs are great!

    Same Falcon 8x +R DL burned @ 8x on Optiarc7200S, scanned @ 8x on iHAP322.

    Just scanned my NEW Falcon DL disc and it turned out ok. ;) I don't have the luck that some do with RICOHJPN or RITEK but this is good for what it is... DL and for me the media... I'm actually happy with the results...

    @hobbit.... what speed do you get the best results?

    @ gm,

    I'm not seeing a discernable difference, be it 4x, 6x, or 8x.

    Here's another one @ 8x:

    [IMG]

    Here's an older one I burned @ 6x:

    [IMG]

    And here's one I burned @ 4x:

    [IMG]

    I do wait a little while, 5-10 minutes, after burning to cool down before I place the disc in my scanning drive.

    The f/w I'm using is 1.09 (liggy & dee's).

    Your total PIEs aren't bad, actually quite good, same with jitter. I'm also scanning @ 8x, might want to give it a try. Other than that, you might just need to run a number of those discs through and get your drive taught. Or maybe it's this new phenom II setup I'm running. ;)

    Robert.... only a few options that it could be. ;)

    BAD cable
    BAD ODD
    BAD IDE connection (fix or wiggle your cable connection)
    BAD IDE controller (mobo or card)

    Ways to fix it...

    Replace cable, check another ODD to see if present cable is good and the "new" ODD works, wiggle ye cable around to ensure a good connection, try another slot or another computer to check your "suspect" ODD....

    HTH buddy...... ;)

    yea i figured as much. not too much it could be.
    so here is what ive done.
    unpluged my 7220A which was set as master. swapped jumper pins in the 20A4P and made it master worked fine. so i plugged the slave into the 7200A and it didnt work. so i got me another cable/ribbon and shazzam problem cured. so while i had them all out changing things around i put them back in the order they are on the mobo so all letters match up and look right when you click on the correct letter the right drive opens up..lol heres how they set in my tower now.

    20A4P=G Drive
    7200A=H Drive
    7200S=I Drive
    7220S=J Drive

    finally a issue that was as simple as a bad cable..lol

    first burn under new configuration.lol

    Well...I'm officially irritated. The iHAP424 is nothing more than an optiarc. NOT what I wanted. I have 4 Optiarcs dangit<--(coverup for the real thing)
    The tray acts like the 7241S, The buffer acts like a typical optiarc, and as you can see (in just a moment), the scanning is NOT like a lite-on. Thoroughly displeased :(

    If I have time, i'll post the LH's scan as well.

    [IMG]
    Ok, here it is. Much better than the iHAS scan, Err Optiarc scan.

    What happened to Cdfreaks? Its now MYCE.com

    Rob, Gm, aren't you both members.

    And according to :
    This link
    it has the same chipset as my LH-20A1H. Well...if thats true, that could be cool. I guess time will tell. But it sure does act like an optiarc!

    NO idea about CDF.. haven't been there in about 2 weeks I guess. :)

    ON the SAME chip... I'd make dang sure... it may be the same maker/manufacturer but I seriously doubt it's based on the SAME chip. ;)
