Yuden -R's are awesome to say the least. TYG02's like the ones you just linked will NOT give you any trouble. The TYG03's (16X Discs) do very well despite their scan quality.

Russ the TY's you linked to are the REAL deal from what I can tell.. Premium line if I'm seeing it correctly. :) They should code out to TYG02 and are brilliant discs!!! NEVER had a coaster with 100's of burns that wasn't caused by doing something stupid... so all my or my computers fault. ;)

I think you can get them cheaper thru SMS or Meritline but if you have some credit with the EGG I understand. :)

    good lucky buddy!!!!

This is what I mean when I talk about the Ritek F-16s being inconsistent!

It's horrible! Totally unacceptable! Threw it in the trash!

This is the same movie burned on one of the -R Verbs. Same burn speed, and same settings in Nero Disk Quality test!

The previous Ritek burn from my last post was decent enough, but this one is crap! The Verb, burned so much better! My blank DVDs are all stored in the bottom drawer of my desk, and never see any sunlight. The cake boxes are always kept closed, and it never gets very hot in here, even in the summertime as I have the AC on then! This whole batch of F-16s has been like this! In my eyes they are junk!

    Best Regards,
    Russ

Russ, are you using lite-on smart tools on the 7220S? It's actually a lite-on drive. I bet it can utilize smartburn...

I really haven't read much about those drives but I'm putting a little money on having to "flash" that drive to a Liteon to take advantage of the Liteon tools. :) JM2ยข on the deal. ;)

Well if it makes you feel any better there's supposed to be a 0.24 Beta of HC encoder out there (for quite a while too i think) but am happy with 0.23

AviSynth 2.5.7.0 and HC 0.23 are downloaded. Avisynth is now installed and in place. but i cant figure out how to get HC to mesh up with dvd-reb??? those links you sent me to was for the free version. i have the pro. do i just copy and paste the HC exe file into the dvd-reb program file?

ok opend dvd reb pro folder found HC file i took out hte HCbatchexe and replaced it with the HCenc023.exe and trying dvd rebuilder now.

well that didnt work i guess i need the HCbatch file back in there??

Ah sorry, i'd only skimread that link. Just checking what versions of AVISynth i have, i can never remember how it all meshes together.

AVISynth 2.5.8.0. I just checked my fileserver, i would've installed this over whatever came with DVD-RB. Checked one of my DVD-RB installers and 1.28.2 comes with HC 0.23, in fact 0.23 came with 1.28.1 too according to the readme files.

I could have sworn there was another thread on it somewhere, if so i can't find it. Just looked thru a HC 0.23 zipfile i have and i've remembered what to do (if you still need to do it manually, as i say it should come with DVD-RB already).
    - Just go into the DVD-RB folder, then Encoders, then the HC Encoder folder. Rename the existing files out of the way and just copy the 0.23 files over. Depending on what's in your 1.28.2 files and 0.23 files that's all you should have to do.
See if you can take a screenshot of your 0.23 files, it'll be easier to explain then.

I knocked one up in the meantime, it looks like last time i installed DVD-RB i just renamed the whole folder out of the way ~

I think i probably copied the DGDecode/matrix and misc folders over from the 0.22 folder, what i do know is that i don't ever tweak the matrix files or anything, i just use HC on it's default settings, i'm not one to faff that much with settings..

i still have 1.26 version of dvd-reb and it had the HC 0.21 version. i did just that copied the name from what it was in dvd-reb and renamed the HV 0.23 and its working now. yup the 4 windows just poped up useing HC0.23. im redoing all the boys harry potter movies. making another backup the first one on the old versions of avisynth and HC took about 26 min gonna see if any time has come off with the updates..

is there anything major in dvd-reb 1.26 vs 1.28?
