my pc doesn;t have a flppy drive. Using Binflash works just fine have done 3 different optiarcs that way.
Dang you GARmoonY... you're in the 20th century.. ROFL. J/K Russ... nothing wrong with floppy for sure... it's a "safe" way to do stuff and if you're comfortable with it then it's ok.
I've had too many floppy drives Flop on me(pun intended). I was trying to upgrade my oldest computers bios one day, and 3/4 of my drives had major bugs. NOT good. The technology is old, therefor unreliable LOL! That's simply my opinion though. I'm sure russ will have a counter argument And that's ok. But know this russ, you probably have a reliable floppy drive. I've NEVER had one. You have luck with floppy drives, I have luck with taiyo yuden
Well, my first computer was from Wood, and you had to put chains on it in the wintertime, and the system timer was an hourglass. The hard drive was this monstrous Winchester drive that sat on the desk externally and screamed at you. I think it was about a 10 inch drive You didn't need sound, because you couldn't hear it anyway over the noise of the HDD! It ran a system called CPM, and had a CPU called a Z80. It had 4MB of memory. Nothing out of date about me! LOL!! Russ
Oman7, I have floppy drives that are older than some of the members here, and they still work. I keep an old Teac Dual drive, 5.25" and 3.50", as I still come across people that have data on 1.2MB 5.25" floppies. The floppies themselves, are more unreliable than the drives. Russ
I had NEW floppies. It was the 3 of the 4 drives. They went to the city dump... It's my guess that they sat and collected too much dust. Things don't like to sit and be forgotten about Here's the best TYG03 I've seen in a while. JVC/TY TYG03 burned at 12X via my oldest 7200A. It made a curious sound yesterday. Its days may be numbered. Which would be ok. I lost count on how many discs its seen. Probably upwards of 600-800 discs. My LH-20A1H has seen more Wish lite-on still made them super good like that
I was a computer virgin in 97 when I got my first pc and was running win 95. I think I could build one now with ease except for installing the OS and bios or whatever you do with it..LOL
heres a link to a folder of some pics of the childrens museum.. we had a blast. im working on this..lol gotta figure out how to share a folder. i dont wanna post links to 62 pics..lol first 8x-r TY in the ihas124.
i cant get photobucket to let me make the folder veiwable to the public. does image shack let ya post entire folders for all view?
NIce pix Rob. In Image Shake all the ones I've posted are marked public, and I have the option of making them private.I use so little I don't know about folders. I use picasa 3.6 to make photos available to friends. It's free and I'm plum stupid for any info for it.
You can even run a Slide Show from imageshack do it from my images when you sign in matter fact photobucket does it to! nice pics of the Boys Robo man they getting Big time flys
Rob yes image shack should work GM do you think the Lite-On iHAS-324-98 is worth 10.00 more than the Lite-On iHAS124-04 ? because the 124 is on sale for 19.99 at newegg. the 324 is 29.99
ZoSo... it's up to you really but if I"m reading correctly the 124 is hit or miss on getting a Liteon and not a NEC powered Liteon. lol. I've also read the 324 is a "real" Liteon... so it's about waiting for a sale and finding out about the 324 or spending that "extra" $10 to assure the Liteon. Ask Robert what he thinks... he has the 124. ALSO... if you want a Liteon then the question is moot... get the 324... ok My 2 ยข is over.
Oh Good Lawdy!!! One of my best friends is a Mich St. Grad and if he read that would feint from anger.... hehehee. If it goes below $25 delivered I may have to snag a couple meself... just ask for forgiveness NOT permission... LOL.
well im a major Big 10 fan but i have to agree GO BUTLER!!!!! gotta love the underdog...lol i just found a retail ihas324 09 A model at my wally world. they have 3 of them.$32.99 thinking hard about getting 1 myself..lol will wait untill next week before i make the choice.. but for 19.99 for the ihas124 id get it.. you can ask newegg for the ihas124 A not the ihas124 Y. ive been told they have done that for some... never hurts to ask.
NOW there's a good idea!!! Let's just hope they can read the "model" number correctly and get it to you!!! ZoSo that would be the thing to do if you ask me.... of course assuming the 124 A is a GOOD ODD!!!!
talking with some of the chaps over at CD Freaks the ihas 124A is great burner. and as we know the litey's can read most anything..lol
Well then... a call to the EGG might be in order... add: ZoSo you call first and let us know what happens... heheehe.
