Moony, ya know what. i was worried about the -r's as well. i would never buy them, but GM sent me some of the verb-rs and they burnt great, then i got this first batch of value line TY's and never had a problem with them since then i now have a little stock pile (about 500) of the 8x-r TY's and 200 of those are the premium ones. i have not had any issue with them at all. heck i cant remember the last time i burnt a +r disc..lol hell i sent the last 100 i had to Russ for these batch of 8x-r TY's. not one problem out of them. but with that said. i am going to buy some more of the 16x+r verbs and use them as my give aways.. dont like parting with my TY's....lmao

ok next question. OEM version of of Win7 or a new printer? epson NX515 model????

Windows 7 is incredible. The bugs I have had, were attributed to software not meshing well yet. Give the software designers time, and they'll catch up to the awesome code that is windows 7. Its every bit as good or better than XP. I believe its better...

I would get the printer if you're needing a printer. :D I'm sure you'll find a good deal on the OS later. :O

That wasn't a resounding promo there Omegaman. I'll stick with XP SP2 all updates turned off! Get the printer, but find one that will accept generic inks, as cheaply as you can find them.

Slightly OT... what about the new Kodak printers... I've heard good things and the replacement ink is about $10 per cartridge. ;)

That would be very nice. I can think of several people that would like to upgrade, but the price is holding them back...

Just backed up Minority report from BD to DVD AVCHD. Quality is astounding of course ;) Virtually zero stutters. Perhaps I will keep that BD player around LOL! I think I'm gonna cool it with the BD backing up for now. I don't even know how these are gonna look on a projector down the road. I would much rather go to single layer BD when the time is right of course ;) Avatar has shown me what true High Definition is all about :D

4X 7200A. I swear this burner is learning the media :p

time to classify this one as a dead thread now..lol
been working alot and not enough time to play with the puter.
but, im wishingi never got this Ihas124. it wont burn anything over 6x speed. no matter what media. i thought ok it might be the sata cable? nope. put one of the old yellow gigabyte cables back on it and put it in another port and keep getting the same results. it just wont burn faster than 6x. here is the latest burn onto a MCC 03RG20 16x-r printable verb. looks the same as the 8x tys.

    Rob,
There's something wrong with it then! Both of mine will burn from 20x on down. Don't forget to flash it back to stock if you have to RMA the drive!
