I like companies that clean up their mess. What a shame optiarc doesn't pay for the shipping, so that they can inspect the drive, and see what went wrong. They'd gain even more respect from me. Kind of hard for our race to evolve and expand, if we don't TRY to learn from our mistakes Sorry. I simply get very irritated about faulty equipment
@Omega Don't you realize that nothing is made to be fixed anymore. or for that matter to last any time. We just bought a new icebox. The one we had still worked ok but was over 25 years old. The guy told us the new LG would not last nearly as long. We still have the old one, working.
now thats not a bad idea. take the IHA124 back and replace it with the IHAS324..lol i did just swap the ports again. put it in one that a hdd was in and it let it burn @8x but then i tried a 12x burn and it sounded like a bomb going off. here are the scans 8x first nasty huh..lol think im gonna go find the box and receipt..
now thats the $64,000 question..lol well it has been replaced with the IHAS324-09-A yup a true litey. all is well with it so far. ive done 3 burns with it and all 3 on the 8x-r TY's Russ sent me. im with Russ on this batch not TY's good stuff for sure. not bad stuff just not the good TY media we want... here are some CRT's and a scan from the new drive then the last one is on the older/new ihas324.lol and from the older ihas324 not much difference.
well i guess you can say the proof is in the pudding..lol i just ran one of them premium 8x-r TY's i bought a while back in the new ihas324. WOW!!!! what a difference. then i found a few more of them 16x-r verbs and thought i'd crank one out at 16x... very sweet crt.. scanning it now over on the big red hemi. no thats not the new one. its the remastered one from a few years back. the wife had it out and the copy had a big scratch on it so i redid it for her. just a reason to burn a disc huh..lol and here is the 16x burn(crt) well up till it hit 16x speed the scan was awesome. ill take it anyday.. i dont do to much burning at 16x anyhow. lol not for keepers that is.. well its been awile so i thought id bust out a multi burn, and do 4 disc at once with nero bruning rom. ill have the result from that shortly to..lol
Since we've been talking about the MCC's, here we are. I get another batch of verbs today. From newegg this time. Shot too Nabby LOL!
Appears to be MCC 004. Just like I hoped it would be. And so far, the scan is one of the best I've seen. SO FAR LOL! They were not made in taiwan like I'm used to. Actually, they're made in united arab emir. Never seen/used them before. So far, I likee Here she is. I was NOT expecting a 98 score. With discs like these, I may just be buying more SOOOOON!!! This scan is highly irregular A very welcome surprise though LOL!
Those were made by Falcon Technologies International, FTI, i.e., FalconMedia. An up and coming manufacturer. Great quality control.
Definitely liking the new batch of verbs. My first batch from the local officemax looked very similar to these, though they were taiwans. Glad to see the quality returning to these wonderful discs
Thanks GM. I'm actually wondering now if the local Officemax had the "United Arab Emir" discs the first time I bought them there. Something about the name rings a bell. Probably only had them once. Very unusual name LOL! Will definitely look if that's what THEY have too now. Would be interesting to confirm...
how do i know if the disc is good or not? what should i look for when the scan is done? i am using opti drive control and nero cd-dvd speed. i got a pic from one of my scans, is this a good or a bad disc. and can you tell me what i got to look for to know if it is a bad or a good one.
heres another one what does this disc info tell me? is this disc better or worse? the reason that i need an answere is because of the dirty disc error. i think it might be the disc's that i am using that gives me the error. im hoping for a quck respond. thx
That's a new program that I haven't used yet... I actually searched for it and downloaded a trial version just to check it out. The second scan is definitely better than the first one and assuming that it's a different disc it would be better for sure. I personally don't have issues with the Ricoh DL media but some might. If you can find some Verbatim DL discs to try that could be of some help. lol. BUT I'm thinking either your ODD (optical drive) is a little wonky or it doesn't like that certain media MID. Thanks for posting with the "new" progie and I hope I answered at least one of your questions!!
