just got a couple movies today. invasion and power rangers for my youngest..lol

gonna do some compairisons tonight on the fly and then ripping to HDDsee what i get.

anyone that know about dvd-reb. can you use it pulling from the disc or do you have to rip to HDD the nuse the vob'sfrom the rip?

guess ya can say dvd-reb on the fly useing the disc

 

rob AFAIK you have to use a "file" from the HDD with DVD RB. hth...

ok got some scans here. im at the bottom of a stack of 16x+r printable verbs..not getting that good of a scan.
this first one is one i did lastnight with dvd-reb.

somethingstrange going on with these disc. im getting ready to open a new 50pc cake of 16x+r verbs

 

just did this one on the new pack of 16x+r verbs. now this is what im use to..lol
burnt on the big red machine at 12x with the LH-18A1P. scan @ 4x

rob those first few were a little ugly for your normal burns. The last one is a beauty tho!!

ok i got 3 scans/burns here 1 with my HP740b 1 with my 16x litey and 1 with the 18x litey. same movie same media same burn speed

16x+r verbs burnt @8x and scanned at 4x.

this scan here is pulled from my 100gb IDE hard drive. burnt with image burn. at 8x

i just dont think i get as good of a burn pulling from the hdd. i still like disc to disc.

 

ok im on the supped up machine. thought i would try a multi burn. 2 disc at once. same movie useing nero burning rom.

heres what i got. oh yea i put my 16x litey in the big red machine. so i now have the LH-18A1P and the SHW 160-P6S.

what is up with that spike you keep getting at the begining of your burns? do you get it with any other media?. take that away and you couldnt tell the burnt disc from original

 

Robert my guess its probably something to do with the lead in on DVD dash R media, because it does with both the Lite-On burn and Plexter burner too. I never use anything else other than Taiyo Yuden media.My bet using the DVD plus R format would solve the problem

 

thats just so odd.have you tried any +r's? TY's of course?
have you tried a different batch of -r TY's. i take it there is no problem at play back?

 

I believe the spike is caused by the begining high compatibility mode. Most burning software does that, but you can turn it off with some software like Nero!
