I never had a problem with the Riteks until the F-16s! The 002s and 003s were excellent through all their revisions. They worked very well and the only coasters I ever made (3) were my own fault, not the media! That's why I made the switch to the Verbs when I started getting failures with the F-16s! No problems with the Verbs at all!

BTW! I just though of this. Is your 160 powered by the USB line? That could be the whole problem. Not enough power for the length of the usb cable! If I use a usb optical drive I have a powered usb hub I installed. Helps solve that kind of problem! Can't hurt to ask! LOL!!

im gonna do a identifier on this second 10 pack of office depot disc and then a burn on one and see what i get.
the second pack of 10 is also the F16 code

Here we go with nero...man if these are crappy disc, by the scans they are pretty awsome. below 7000PIE's in nero thats real nice. gonna pop it in and check it out some see how it plays.

All the ones I got were from the first production batch according to the numbers. That's why they replaced them! If they've solved whatever problem that was plaguing them, that's good! 6 out of the 20 I had were bad, and I'm not exactly new at this! LOL!! It wasn't a hardware issue as I've had no problems at all with the Verbs!

Make that 8 out of 22! I just found 2 F-16s at the very bottom of the stack! Both failed to burn right in different machines! No scratches or anything obvious that I could see.

i actually burnt this on my HP system with the SHW-160P6S litey.
still a pretty sweet burner i haveto say...lol

I haven't done a scan in over a year or soooooooo and here is one that I did today:


after thousands of burns for my Taiyo Yudens and my BenQ 1655 I still get a 98 score! nice huh? not bad.

And JUST YESTERDAY I found my first bad YUDEN000 T02! So it does happen! I finally got a coaster of a TY!!!! This is a first! After THOUSANDS OF BURNS I got a coaster from a TY. I forgive you TY! hahahaha

But of course, meaning from the link supplied by my favorite buddy from Ohio, home of the tornados and the team which thinks it has been hit by a tornado.

 

tornados have been every where here. not in my area closely. but we had bad storms the last 2 days. trees down major power outages. 85,000+ people without power until saturday afternoon. and im one of them. on the puter here at work now...

got a couple scans. 1 with nero and 1 with dvdinfopro.almost identical scans. PIE/PIF wise that is.




only a total of 20 PIE's seperate them... not bad.plus a very low jitter score.

OK Folks,
Who wants to help me sort out flashing my AD-7170A Optiarc DVD Burner. Never done it before that I can remember but I have the bios, the drive meets all the criteria and I have the instructions. Problem is they don't seem to make much sense, and they sure aren't clear on exactly what the want turned off. One part of it tells you one thing and then the second part doesn't. See here:
