    I'm with greensman,before doing anything drastic have you tried to just swapping out the SATA cable you could have a wire in that cable broken and not making contact correctly. Reseating it may have made it connect again and it might go out again. Cheap way to check. That is if you haven't already done so. JM2C.

    i checked the cable, looks fine. i think it the sata pluggins. ive had to change out 3 different cables now..

    GM. 2 of them were the cables that came with the mobo... and the other one was one that came with a drive.

    got some scans for you guys. ;) messing with some of the "lesser" known media out there or less liked would better describe it. lol. :p

    Got a couple more for you fellas. ;) I know they're a little small but at least it gives some idea how the Pioneer 112L performs. I like the AD-7200 but it has some BIG shoes to fill if you ask me. :D L@@K at the JITTER on the SONY08D1 !!! WOW.... :D

    For you CMC MAG doubters out there.... :p Look at that Jitter too... it's pretty danged good if you ask the GM. :D

    I just had to post another one for the sake of it. ;) I'll try to get a LARGER image next time so we can see how the media does to the very edge of the disc. :p

    edit:
    @RedRob,
    I don't see 4 SATA cables going bad within 2 months or so. I don't see all of your SATA connections doing that either. lol. It could be a driver issue or even a "connection" issue but you've already stated that you checked that more than once. I can't help but blame the mobo itself. For some reason you've had these monumental problems with the P35-DS3R but I blame nothing on you of course. ;) It's just bad luck or the PC gods have it out for you.. hehehe. :p

    I was going to say...that isn't a fair representation being so small. Why is it so small again? Are you burning dodgy content? :p

    No, I don't have a different firmware...just curious as I only see the scans from a different drive and not a creation which indicates the drive/firmware combo. :) I just like to crosscheck from time to time.

    Finally got around to "doing" some TY media. :)

    Sony/NEC/Optiarc AD-7200S (Liggy's 1.06bt f/w)
    IMGBURN @ 8X
    YUDEN T02 (Sony DVD+R [MIJ])

    [IMG]

    TYG03 (OEM-Taiyo Yuden)

    [IMG]

    Pretty good stuff if you ask me. ;) Both are FIRST burns with the media IIRC. I'm almost positive that's it. ;) Can't say any more about TY.. :)

    btw you guys use much of the T03 stuff?? I've got some and found it last night. Only a few pieces but was wondering if you've used any and how it performed. I may take this discussion to the docTY thread. :D

    i dont think i have ever used any of the T03(16x-r) TY's.
    i have how ever had 100 of the hub printable YUDEN000T03 (16x+r).
    if ya remember when i first got my 1 of 3 LH-18A1P drives i waisted about 25 or so cause it would burn to the media. but after that i had great success rate with them.. i will try and find some of them and re scan them and see what i get.....

    tbh im gonna order me some of the 8x+r ty's and some of the 16x-r ty's. and give them a try....i know this optaric is loven the 16x-r verbs i have.

    oh you want a scan..lol
    here is one on the 7200s set to burn at 18x speed. wasnt a full disc so it didnt get that high.

    create scan here. no jumping around thats a plus.

    garmoon,
    I had lent my friend 12 DVDs because he was out. He gave me back 12 Ritek F-16s! They suck! With the verbs even when I just do random checks all are 95 percent quality or above, even with the same DVD I just burned on the F-16! I've burned 3 F-16s so far and all are "0" Percent Quality. I'm done with Ritek for a while anyway! These just came last Friday from Newegg!

    @Russ

    I use th Office Depot disc for my daughter and have had very few problems with them over the years. I use Verbs and TYs for my backup and have the same success. I was just surprised that the score was so high. gary
