Since we are on the subject of firsts, here is my first burn with my Plextor PX-800A. Installed using a PCI, IDE Controller Card. Avg. speed 7.6x burned with ImgBurn.
allrighty then..my peeps await my scans.....lmao got one here i did on the 7200s scaned it then scaned again on my 20x litey. burnt at 12x on a 16x-r verb printable...sweet stuff heres the litey. got a couple movies im gonna do today on some of the memorex dl disc.
Did a quad burn this morning. Yep for discs (burners) going at once. I'll post some scans later along with the Nero engine doing it's thing. NIce scan Robert. ....gm
QUAD burn huh? with the Q6600? why only 4 i know the RC690 has 5 drive bays in it and im 100% sure they are all full of nice highly qualified burners....lol well here is disc 1 of the 2 disc collectors edition of Top Gun. i guess this isnt to bad considering the memorex DL 8x media...the first half of it looks great. but once it hits the layer break it goes coo-coo....i did this scan in the 7200s taht burned it.... im scanning it again in my 29x litey..doing the second disc now.. very odd that the bonus disc with the extras is 7.8gb bigger than the movie disc.. got another one to do as well. Flawless. with Michael Caine and my hottie Demi Moore. EDIT 2 ADD scan from 20x litey same disc. even better
NO not the Q6600, sorry that was misleading. Just 4 going at once. It wouldn't let me burn more than 4 discs at once. Something was said about NOT having a license to burn more than 4. I actually had it ready to burn 6 at once. lol. You forgot about that external didn't you?? Anyway I thought that 4 Lite-Ons going at once was pretty cool. ...gm
Decided to scan these at lunch. Nero Ultimate 6.6.0.18 burn speed 6x (only common speed that would work) CMC MAG AM3 (DVD-R 16x) I checked the worse one and it played just fine at the chapter marks. DIDN'T check the entire disc for play. You guys can tell which machine burned what and the scanning drive as well. ...gm
dude i see you decided to break out the quality 16x drive.... i still love that drive...wish they would do a FW update on it..you do have PSOC i went back to PSOB i think its better....those are good scans for that drive. the PIFs are great for it. i think that drive is more demanding then the newer drives..gonna make me take out the LH-18A1P and stick in the SHW-160P6S. oh i new you ment you burnt 4 disc at once. i was just asking if it was with the Q6600 rig? all 4 litey's together what you got segragation going on down thare in TexASS....lol ill be glad to get rid of these disc..lol great for giveaways...
Robert get you one of these. link to externals enclosures I have the Galaxy and it's ok. Door mechanism is a little different but it works. Took me about 15 minutes to install the DVDRW and that was while watching TV. ....gm
Greensman, I decided to take your advice and play around with the settings utility and see what works and what doesn't! The best combination seems to be with Smart Burn and Force Hyper Tuning turned on, and burn at 12x! These were burned at 12x on the Lite-On LH-20A1P, that's now painted Silver and installed in my machine. I did the scan at 4x, just like the previous 8x burns. I think the scan looks rather good! What gets me with all 4 of these drives is they are so close in overall performance, as the scans have shown. This one is my best scans ever! Russ
Nice scan there buddy. I'm curious as to which MCC 004 discs you have. I see the consistent cluster in the PIE and it makes me think they are the Prodisc made Verbies. If you can read the hub code in the clear area and post it that would be great. Good job on the drives and those burns (scans). ...gm add: CMC MAG and Prodisc make the MCC 004 Verbies now. To MCC's specs of course. lol.
greensman, Thanks, couldn't have succeeded without your help! I guess this is what you want as it's the only thing I can find around the hub! A bitch to see too! LOL!! It's like a one dimensional Hologram, hidden in the pigment/dye just outside the clear part! ZD3121-DVR-T47D Best Regards, Russ
There should be a code that starts with either MAP or PAP. hth.... ...gm It's no big deal really I'm just curious as to which plant made the disc. OH.. this is assuming they are MIT discs too.
greensman, It's there in the clear part and almost invisible to the naked eye. I just didn't look any further when the holographic thing caught my eye. Wonder what that number is for? LOL!! Here you go! PAPA09JH01113099 5 Russ
That's it!! CMC MAG made stuff!! I was a little off MAP, PAP, PAH is CMC MAG stuff. + and - is the Prodisc stuff. link for info on Verbie makers ....gm
Damn i guess verbatim is selling out like everyone else is... next thing ya know TY's will be made by princo...... unreal it is... oh yea very nice scan there Russ
You're welcome Russ. RedRob you knew that anyway. Here's something for you guys. I've been messing with a friends lappy, Dell Inspiron 6000, and decided to install Vista on it. LOL. I know, that was silly but for some reason the drive wouldn't read CD's so a DVD image was needed. Vista installed with no issues and it's not to bad. Ripped a DVD that required NO compression so I wouldn't have to deal with Shrinking in any way. Here's the result. With Honors is the movie btw. I used RipIt4Me (which has DVDDecrypter and DVDShrink), IMGBURN, and Nero 4.7.5.0 to scan. I installed Nero 6.6.0.18 just for giggles and it seems to work ok as well. Vista is a little different but I kinda like it. ...gm
That's what finished me with Vista! I installed Nero 6.3.1.17 and it blew up Vista on my Acer Laptop, in a big way! I tried to uninstall Nero, but it fried the OS and I had to spend $42 for a recovery disk just to get the laptop to run right again. Never again! I do like some of the features of Vista, but there's so much more that I hate, so I won't be converting to it in my lifetime, and I'm willing to bet the farm on that! LOL!! Russ
