NOT so funny. :p When I was all but jobless 5+ years ago I fed my family with my winnings on the golf course. I was pretty good back then and I knew who the pigeon was on the tee. :D

You should look at this Robert. :) link

Still working on the issues. I think they are just user error..Not being familiar with it. There was some steps I was not doing I think..

I normal just rip with dvd fab then shrink/nero .With that it just click and walk away.Nice and easy..

I think I was forgetting the transcode part.. I was just opening ripped file in imgburn. If it was main movie it fits. The whole disc would not fit..

imageburn wont transcode you have to dvddecrypter then burn with imageburn.

OK guys. This is MOST curious. I realize this scanning software is mainly a guidline, but im seeing something very curious. The very first spike of PIF (as indicated) has exactly 104 failures. Ive mentioned it on the site before, but now its really in my face. Im seeing it too often to be considered a coincidence. Any thoughts as to why a spike would continue to be EXACTLY THE SAME. It almost seems like sabotage! Ok, Ok, im obsessed!

that scan is perfect. your looking at it to closely if that first error was at the very begining of the scan everytime then i would wonder about it. but that is into the scan a bit nothing to worry about.. i think i might have met my match with these scans. someone looking at them as badly as i do..lol not maken fun of ya omegaman just stateing the obvious..lol

SERIOUSLY that scan is great. if you get tehm looking like that everytime you will not ever have a problem with them disc being read or reripped.
im gonna go back in the archives a bit and find a scan. i know it is exactly what you are wanting everytime... give me a bit and i will find it and post

VERY good scan. Ive had better, but thats AWESOME! I cant wait til my PREMIUM TY'S arrive. The writer I just bought is with 1yr replacement ROB. I scanned an industry burned dvd-rom quite a while back that had next to nothing for errors/failures. Gonna have to try it again. Well... I burned a disc at 4X with the 840. As you can see, I still have that FREAK lead-in. As well as the previous posted 104PIF spike. Well that tears it. This disc wont see another burnable! Im typing this as its scanning and just seen the spike of 7! WELL... I had better scans burning at 8X. Guess its true what I read. Its not always best to burn at slower speeds! This burner has officially flown south!!! I'll still use it as a ripper. Pretty hard to fail a read job, RIGHT? Ahh... Theres a flaw in the dye where the spike of 7 is.

The "block" is a grouping of spikes that create a solid block in the PIF area. If you look at omegaman's last scan you see a large "block" that is a concern if you ask me. :)

I think it has a lot to do with that particular drive. My NEC Based Optiarc got the best results at 8x, while my two Lite-Ons do best at 12x! I imagine the differences are Tolerances and calibration from the factory though.

Here are some Ritek (CD) scans. The first is a Vietnam Ritek, the most disgusting LOOKING batch of cds ive ever seen. Green splatter on multiple discs, imperfections in dye, little bumps on the top side, I cant believe it scanned as well as it did! The others are nothing short of awesome. They were from Taiwan. I have SMS to thank for them. I bought 2x50packs and they sent me these. Atleast I got ONE good batch! This is a good example of why online sites NEED NEED NEED to post WHERE they were manufactured. VERY invaluable info.

I'm amazed that this thread is still around here, been gone too long.

Anyways, did IRON MAN, ripped it with DVDFab HD Decrypter, Vobblanker took care of unwanted junks, Recode 3 to do the job and burn with Nero Burning Rom. I was rooting for DVD-Rebuilder Pro + CCE SP2 route, but it's only 12% that needed to be transcoded, so with that Recode 3 will do just fine with "Advanced Analysis + High Quality Mode + Assign Best Quality to Main Movie." Considering that I burned this to the max (16X) and scanning @16X, this ain't so bad after all.
