    No I switched to Kapersky - I'm liking it much better than Norton.

    those numbers you have there arnt that bad. not great but not that bad..
    when i say those numbers i mean the ones of you PI errors and Pi failures. your system is great for burning. no problem there
    as far as a new burneri just got the lite-on SHW-160P6S, and i love it. alot of other members here have this drive and (i can now say WE) we get great result from it.... you ccan get it from www.newegg.com.
    i got mine for 27.99 on sale. but still not on sale around 35 bucks... it does eerything except lightscribe.
    and you media you have is great. can never go wrong with TY's. the Phillips in would stay clear from. that liteon drive loves 8X+r verbatim disc....

    hope this helps. im sure Binkie7 could and would tell ya more about that drive....

    @VG2k2
    For as old as that LiteOn is that's a great scan imho.
    Yeah I'm a Litey fan and have the one cincyrob does. I have a preference for LiteOn :)

    The ASUS is actually a rebadged Pioneer DVR-109 - good drive.
    Looks like the latest firmware is 1.57 or 1.59 - here's a link to check it out.

    Oh and welcome back to aD too!

    @Yulyo
    Nice scan there - 99 - here it is

    Your Asus is the Pioneer DVR-108 good drive too - I have that Pioneer model also.

    Binkie, we need a doctor, it seems our monster has been struck on his head by an errant disk ejected too fast from a high speed burn attempt. Me thinks he is residing in Stupyville right now.
    @CincyRob,
    Boston good,
    Cincy bad,
    Remember, SHINY SIDE DOWN when burning.
    Take two advil and you'll feel better in the morning.

    2004 World Series Champs,
    Redsox,
    2004 Losers, Reds.
    Last Championship for Reds, 1990,
    Sadam invades Kuwait, AMityville horror haunting, a mere coincidence? I think not...
    @Binkie, I'm getting our monster a hard hat with the reds logo on it so he doesn't suffer any more irreversable brain trauma due to flying disk mishaps.

    2004 champs thats right beat the help out of the yankee's sweeps the last 4 games outof 7...very good... but i think the last time the reds played the yankee's in a best of 7 series we sweept the first 4 games..lol
    guess ya can look at that like burning disc... nothing better than your first 4 burns to be perfect than getting 3 bad ones before you decide to do it right.....

    Hey as long as someone other than the Yankee's win it im a slap happy...
    i need to get home and burn something...got a itch for some scans..lol

    Another awesome scanned from Hitachi Maxell "Made In Japan", one of my most trusted media beside genuine Taiyo Yuden.

    This would have been at least 99.99% quality score on DVDInfo Pro, but I've dumped DVDInfo Pro due to it's no longer free.

    TYG03 are 16x Taiyo Yuden manufactured disks. Even thought it says about Manufacturer unknown, they're still Tayio Yuden, so you have some of the best disks available. For more info about Unknown manufacturer see this thread from herricks post downwards :)

    Edit: It seems common for TYG03 to show as unknown manufacturer :)

    @Yulyo
    To tell if it is a TY disk, look for the following tip offs.
    Fuji DVD disks, Made in Japan, 8X and +R type media. Avoid the 16X because they are RICOHJPN and made in Taiwan.
    Sony, 8X made in Japan, white Octagonal spacer on top of the spindle.
    [IMG]
    Also Sony MIJ 16X also with the white octagonal spacer.
    I've heard that some made in Japan Maxell are also TY, but let another more knowledgable member confirm this.
    I hope that this helps.
