    Yep maxell at one time did have TY as a manufactuer - 8x and lower media. The hitachi made is good too.

    @Yulyo
    Stick w/ the Verbs or Sony's. Samsung uses many different manufacturers.
    To get the pic to post copy & paste the url between the img tags - [img*] paste url here [/img*] (remove asterics)

    Oh and that is a bad scan - but I used any kind of dvd's back in the days too. Learned my lesson.

    @VG2k2
    No problemo ;)
    Post some scans too.
    The real test is always do they play - that's all that matters no matter what the scan says :)

    Just an fyi (& no I'm not advocating stickies - lol)
    I copied Star Wars IV,V & VI that I backed over 2 years ago - I used the copies that had sticky labels done on Ritek. Total time was like 11 mins - not one glitch :)
    And still play fine too.

    I'll post a scan of one of them later.

    it might not be the stickies giving me the problem on them then (they are on 8x+r verbs) but they were one of my very first burns. so mayve mine are just from me screwing them up, while i was learning...

    I'm out of YUDENs, so here's my 2nd backups of ICE AGE 2: Meltdown, with "main movie + menu" only. Again from Hitachi MAXELL "Made In Japan". Man, I'm sucha "Maxell-holic" nowadays.

    I'd stay away from Samsung, and BTW TDK aren't good; there crappy too :)

    Use Verbatim, Sony and Taiyo Yuden!

    i did everything on this disc.seeing i kinda am fond of the WWF...lol
    i used clonedvd and kept everything was at about 67% i think so thats 34% compression. im gonna do it again just the movie and menu.

    @Ripper

    I've already got K-Probe long time ago (when I first joined AD), been using it, it's another great free tool.

    This was one of the Star Wars w/ a paper label I recopied the other night. Labels has been on there for over 2 years.
    Watched it this am - and believe it or not perfect playback.
    Go figure

    LOL - I thought for sure the end would be a problem - pixels at least but none. Just doing a copy to copy w/ Nero was not a problem. Not 1 read error.

    Nope label is still on - still have a bunch from 2004 & before on Ritek that have labels -so far except for a few they're ok.
    I'm slowly getting around to redoing those :)

    Lol, lucky you then ;-)

    I hadn't ever put labels on any of mine, and the few that are burnt to RICOHJPNR01 still transfer scan all OK :)
