    I just finished up backing up Criminal minds. And decided to do my first scan ever. This was done at 4x on Memorex(i know crappy media)but was looking for info to see if this was a good copy or a bad one?

    @biggun31

    yes its a good scan.how does it play?
    youhad a high PIE spike but nothing to worry about. your maximum PIF of 2 is great. kinda high on the total but still good.... as long as it plays well for you its perfect scan....remember not to take these scans to heart..as long as the play and you can rerip them your good to go.

    Looks like you lucked out on the Memorex biggun31.
    The ones you have are made by Ricoh - decent stuff.

    Firmware on the burner can use an update - latest is TS12

    The playback is great, clear as a bell without any problems. And after testing the rerip, theres no problems there so i guess as ya said i'm good to go :)

    @binkie7
    Thanks i'll give that a try to see what happens.

    ok i got a 70 for my total pif's but thats tainted. i see if you dont burn all the way to the edge you get a number like that. its still good number but i dont understand why i got it..i know(and its the first time i ever tried adjusting how far out i burn)that when you shrink the movie down its less quality. i set it to only burn out to the 3700 mark so it is shrinking it more than normal isnt it??? why would it get less PIF's than going to the 4400 mark. out to the edge??? now if you get these better numbers wouldnt it be better to do this all the time?

    Nah I never shrink it down that far- I always burn to the edge.
    No problems on this end even a few years later - now iffy media burned to the edge different story.

    I think I recall reading something about the edge is where the disc's dye can becomes more 'unstable' or something along those lines.
    Check one of joeryan's post from the TY thread something in there about it.

    @biggun31
    You're welcome!

    That's Ricoh, not CMC MAG aka Memosux. You're pretty lucky to have Ricoh on that batch.

    And here we go again, another awesome backup (INVINCIBLE, US Region 1) of Hitachi Maxell (MIJ) went all-the-way to 4471MB.

    here is a scan of the disc after being printed on. i like this type of finish on these disc. much nicer than the printable verbs i had. more of a flat finish...

    [IMG]

    Put this one in for my buddy Mort81 MCC 004 with a pretty good scan.
    [IMG]

    Best looking one of the bunch but only a 96 with spike at 7.

    btw the recorded with Sony is a lie, for some reason Nero sees my LITEON SHW-160P6S as a Sony. No clue why? It's an OEM LITEON.

    edit: had to add this so we could all see this. lol. Recorded from a friend of mine on his new Philips external DVD drive on a coveted CMC MAG.

    @greensman
    that last one looks so pretty.. nice colors. lol
    your first ones isnt that bad a little high on the spikes but as long as they dont stay there it cool. they all look good. playback is the most important thing..

    as for your liteon. you have the same as alot of us do.. nero at times says its recorded with the sony.. dont ask me why it just does...seeing that liteon bought the sony drives might have something ot do with it i dont know..
