id say im haven withdraws from this place. not being on for 24 hours..lolsory if im annoying people with my post.
i just noticed the last burn of cars i just did(ripped itto the HD first) got a better score than my first. 95 to a 90. i just went from disc to disc on the first one and ripped to my HD and then burned with clonedvd2,but like i said in my earlier post that first copy looked awsome on that big 50in widescreen of my inlaws..lol

    Hey cincyrob
Txs for the type on Clone - I'll check that out next time I use a +R w/ it. I usually use the booktype utility.

Here's why I love TY - older ones burned at 8x - still scan well

Glad you got your power back - that can suck! Reason we got a generator to run the basics - you know PC's and Frig's :0)

very nice scans there, the one with only 106 PI failure should be a 99.9 in my eyes. im slap happy with the last one i did and only had 510 i think thats my lowest.

Not bad for one over 2 years old!!

I'll try and dig up some older ones and see how they scan.

cincyrob you have definitely turned into the scan man :0)

when i get the time(most the time i get is late at night when im off work and the kids are asleep and i dont want to be up all night messing on here.not that i wouldnt..lol)i need to read and learn more about the numbers gotten on these scans as far as the pi errors and failures... i see some of these scans we have posted and just shake my head.... scan with pi failure up around 9 and 10 gets 97 score and others with pi failures of 2 get 93????? just like your last scan with only 106 total failures and a maximum of 2 how is that not higher than a 95???

    @CincyRob
You aren't referring to Pete "Let me bet on anything"Rose are you in your signature are you?
Seriously, I think you are putting too much time and effort into this scanning numbers thing. As long as it plays okay in your DVD player, you'll be fine.

Yeah I just know the very basics on reading scans too.
You can be our pro :)

Just another guess here so may be way off base but other drives may use a different algorithm in calculating there scores (?) or allow for higher pif & pie's. LiteOn may be tighter than the others (?)

Ok scanman :0) your quest is now over ?

See the diff's in the Nero & DVD Info? Higher numbers in both PIE & PIF
(except PIF average in Nero and PIF peak in DVDInfo - same)

So it just goes to show you like blivetNC said all comes down to how it plays on your set up. My best test :)

I'll try and find some older verbs and ty or whatnot and post tomm (but football sunday and homework - yuck :)

Do a disk quality scan in Nero Cd speed, then take a screenshot of it (with the "Prt Scrn" button on your keyboard), then use www.photobucket.com to upload it.
Now you copy the img location here like so

there are differences with the way how DVDInfo Pro and Nero CD/DVD Speed Test do their scans. So every time you do a scan on either program will result with different scores.....

@Ciny.... do another scan on Scarface with both programs. see if they come out to the scores you got already.
