    @hobbit,
    Nice scan on the Yuden T03. Good movie too. ;)

    Haven't read much on the LH-20A1H, but the LH-18A1P scans pretty well. I have a SHW-160P6S as well so the next couple of scans I will check to see how it performs. :)

    edit to add scan....

    and i will grace you with my presence in YOUR thread too~ :) LOL

    looks like more and more people are getting into the YUDEN000T03s these days, i suppose that's good for Taiyo Yuden... :)

    i've only looked at the this last page, but the YUDEN000T03 scan from above is quite good by hobbit~ nicely done.

    @docTY
    Thanks for the compliment! My Litey likes these 16Xs alot better than the 8Xs I had. Looking for more & better things to come!

    @greensman

    Noticed something weird on your first scan of Metal. PIEs says max 53 but there is no spike that high. Especially wierd because CD/DVD Speed usually resets the graph axis so all spikes show. Your X axis upper limit is 20.

    I just noticed the same thing on your Nemo scans.

    @aabbccdd

    you've been burning them 16x TY's for awhile now havent ya???i have heard that TY has been working on the 16x media alot more seeing that the 8x media is no longer gonna be produced...it was just a matter of time the 16x TY's caught up with everything else to good of a company not to get there product where it needs to be...but like docTY said its weird/odd that these newer drives are haven so much problems with the 8x media...

    For whom the bell tolls, time marches on....

    hobbit I have changed the values to show most of the spikes in a "viewable field". :) The single spike is not noticeable because it's at the beginning of the scan. I've had a few scans do this and it's annoying at best. ;) I've even had a few scans do that in the beginning of the PIF's and just restarted to get a "consistent" and "believable" scan. LOL. LIke that's really possible.

    I'll state this so we all can hear it again.

    "These scans are essentially just 'eye-candy' and should not be taken as gospel or concrete evidence of the quality of the media or burn. As most of you know 'playback' is the ultimate test."

    JM2C on this. :)

    ....gm

    edit: here does not = hear.........lol......changed for the English majors......:p

    @RUINS,
    Here is a link that will answer some of what you're asking. If you want to know something more CDF might offer a little more insight. :)

    LInk to CLV definition....

    Here's a DL scan I can be proud of! This is the highest rating I've gotten with these Verb DLs (or any DLs for that matter!).

    Eye candy is eye candy but there is correlation!

    A couple of scans for your eye's pleasure. :p

    Although we know that Verbs and TYs are known quality media look at this TY burned on a Pioneer DVR-112L with Nero 6 software. The Verb had the same treatment but very different results. NO fiddling or multitasking, just sitting back and waiting for it to do it's thing. :)

    I can switch the discs and scan with different drives but I believe the results would be similar. :)

    .....gm

    EDIT:: I had to add this just for comparison's sake. :p
    Yep they are similar! The drives did a good job of non-bias and scanned very similarly even tho burned with a Pioneer. Still both pretty good scans but the YUDEN T02 out shines the Verb. Now if Mort81 were here he could show us some great Verb scans, for some reason his rig really likes the Verbs. :)

    Well, it's been a while since I've been to this thread/forum. Just another "Hitachi Maxell" (8X DVD+R MIJ) -- again, Hitachi Maxell is one of my favorite media beside the great Taiyo Yuden. Nothing special, but it sure is another beautiful scanned.
