    Haha, "Silencer" i.e. earmuffs required.
The 750TX is fine, I know a few people who have them with no issues.
However, when the extreme PSU calculator says you need 400W, you actually need 250W. Bear that in mind.

haha I figured the extreme psu calculator would be off but that's a bit more then I expected. Need to learn the proper way of calculation power consumption lol.

According to PCP&P the silencer is optimized for "silent" operation although I wouldn't be surprised if they were abusing different interpretations of "silent".

The PCP&C Silencer is one of the few PSUs to break the 50dB barrier at full load. The term 'Silencer' is utter crap.

hi im a complete newb at modding computers and i was wondering if my hp pavilion p6280t series computer can run a radeon HD 4670 with a 400 watt power supply. I dont know what my mother board is...my cpu is a Intel core 2 quad CPU Q8300, and 6GB DDR2-800MHz SDRAM [3 DIMMs], 500GB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive.

I'd rather see you go with the 550 version Corsair for a little "wiggle room". :) I have the 400W Corsair and it's brilliant but I'm running onboard graphics and a Dual Core AMD. :)

No really, don't buy the 550. The 400 is more than double the power you need. The 400CX is perfectly fine, if it will fit.

It'll probably deliver about 110W, then go bang, or burst into flames.
Buy a proper PSU, you won't regret it.

I think these Orion's are the same as the one's called famous brand on Tigerdirect they have the same cut out for the fan plus they have olny 2 sata plugs like the one's on Tiger, the one's on Tiger say they are OEM.Sammorris I was wondering what is the Ultra LSP550 like they seem to be priced really nice and your getting alot of Wattage for next to nothing when compared to other PSU's and plus your getting a lifetime warranty.

Golden rule with PSUs: If it's too good to be true, it is. Ultra units can be mediocre, or they can be downright terrible. TD sell a lot of Ultra units, and most of them are pretty dire. If you want a 550W unit, buy a Corsair VX. That's not expensive, that's how much a 550W PSU should cost.

Listen to Sammy... PSU's are NOT the component to skimp on!! btw the Corsair VX-550W unit is great.. I have one and it's been terrific for about 2 years I think. ;)

What a meaningless post. 500W can be good, too much, not enough, it could be a good 500W, a bad 500W, it could be anything!
