I recently installed the Cyberlink PowerDVD v6 (Dell Inspiron 8600, Windows XP SP2, 512 megs ram) and am having trouble getting it to work.

It installed fine. I go to click on the icon to run it, and nothing pops up. According to the Task Manager, a PowerDVD.exe program IS running, but there are no visual signs of it anywhere.

    Any ideas on this one?

I just noticed that PDVDServ.exe is loading, as well. Again, no actual visual signs of this program running, other than in Task Manager.

I currently have powerdvd 4.0 and thought I would try the new version, powerdvd 6. I was very dissapointed because there were many bugs, not just with the program itself but conflicting with other programs on my system. I ended resorting back to powerdvd 4.0.

Ive got the same problem. Worked fine until i did a HDD format but now nothing. I was maybe thinking it is because Windows is now installed on the E: drive other than the usual C: drive, whats your Windows installed to?

Situation: on my c: windows 2000 is installed, on d: winxp sp2, I start windows xp and also installs on c: sometimes to see if it works

I have this problem too, completely the same as urs, tried to install it on d: where windows xp sp2 is installed, no luck, installed it on c: no luck (when xp was loaded, not tried it on 2000)

I hope someone can find a solution

    1. PowerDVD 6 is very unstable and glitches periodically.

    2. Install version 5 and see how that works fer ya.

    3. PowerDVD 5 is rock-solid, plus it has a better picture quality.

    4. If anyone cares to dispute this claim, i'm here all week.

    5. I'm going to lunch, Subway sounds good.
