I keep getting a pop-up from Avast warning saying “MALICIOUS URL BLOCKED” under their Network Shield utility. It claims to be blocking a harmful site with the given name of Microsoft Games\Microsoftupdate\Microsodtupdt32.exe which according to Avast is located inside the AppData\Local\MicrosoftGames folder. However the blocked file is not there and instead the Microsodtupdt32.exe file is actually located in the Windows directory in the Prefetch folder with the full name of microsoftupdt32.exe-b7ad1c61.pf I really didn’t notice a difference in the PC for several hours after the Avast warnings had occurred. I did take the warnings serious enough to run Malware Bytes and HijakThis; however MB came back with 0 problems. I recently have began experiencing issues such as my PC going black sporatically during web usage and the avast warnings are much more frequent. I just need some advice. I read somewhere that you cannot delete Pretech files so I wanted to get some good advice before I made things worse. The only thing I could think of causing the issue was a Kapersky boot CD I created for anti-virus back-up on a disk – made it last night. I'm running Vista on a Compaq Presario I will post MB & HJT Logs below. Thanks in advance!
