    Was tryin to go the cs route with the dreambox.. supposed to be all preconfig and set up but can only get free to air on it ..

    well, it's simply...what all u need is:
    1) satellite box running linux eg.Dreambox, Technomate
    2)'proper' image installed (mean firmware, eg.Enigma, UR18 etc)
    3)cccam (card sharing software) installed on it
    4)broadband and somebody who wants to share with u :)
    ...forgot to mention: have dish pointed on Astra2/Eurobird 28.2E (Dublin) and
    pickin up all S*y package (with all sports of course :))

    ..hope didn't break any forum rules :)

    there are plenty of boxes coming out and a word of warning some boxes like dreambox which are great but you need a good head with programming
    and pc knowledge to get it to work,new technomate has the user in mind
    to get it working quicker so always ask questions before you buy.

    That sounds like what i am looking for ....

    I have a SKY dish on my roof from a previous Installation that i no longer use .
    I also have a Starview 3 and a Kryptview A750 that are now door stops .
    I have 10mg Broadband .

    Can i use the items above ? if so then all i need is the proper image on the box and the cccam (which i have no clue about) and somebody to share (share what ? again i am lost)

    If i can use the dish and one of the boxes then please somebody help me with the rest (i am willing to pay)

    krypt is still working so not a doorstop yet,there is a buy and sell on forum.http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/226
    you will need new sat boxes as cable boxes cannot be used.

    I bought a Dreambox 800 last week and hooked it up to my old sky dish. I uploaded new software etc and subscribed to a card sharing site which is pretty cheap and provides all sky and loads of other channels.

    My problem is though, that I think I have bought a clone as the software i installed isn't working very well and I can't receive any channels.
