I have read most of these boards and starting out just backing up dvds <4.6GB.
I have a Pioneer DVR-104 and used diff progs PrimoDVD, Nero, SmartRipper and DVD Decrypter. I get dvd that work fine for only about 20 min into the movie then get glitches and dvd cannot be read after that. Can someone help?

I have tried Verbatim DataPlus and also some generic ones from UK Bulkpaq.co.uk from a friend same results.

I suggest you try the recommended media listed on the Pioneer web page for fault isolation. I think some of the brands where - TDK, Maxell, Pioneer, etc.
