I have just begun using printable media. Having read many threads about the problems of printable media,I have chosen verbatim +8x full hub printable and they are working great.

Does any actual burn take place on those data-write printables?

A firmware update may be needed for your burner.

I am not sure of what you are trying to backup,so please tell us what you are trying to backup, process you are using, and all programs you are using for this backup.

A nero error burn report would also help out, please edit out your serial #- Starts out as 1A20-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx

Very suspicious on the quality of that code.I couldn't even locate that code on any of dogbomb's list of media codes.

Reduce your backup target in dvd shrink:Open up dvd shrink/
Edit/preferences/click on dvd-5 and scroll till you get to custom, click and then set the target to anywhere from 4300-4360 mbs/OK.
Also reduce your burn speed to see if you can get these to burn. You may also want to try to burn with dvd decrypter and see if that program will burn them.
    Good Luck.

thought i'd chip in here, was searching for something else and read this post. Looks like you've used all saugmon's suggestions, but you're still using questionable discs -

Probably all different manufacturers, and the skc are one of the worst.I didn't see skc on that list I posted earlier, must be a newer media.

Full hub printables: I get the verbatim data life plus +8x.Coded mcc-003. Notice some of those + datawrite +8x's are made by the same manufacturer!I'd take the mcc, prodisc, and fujifilm codes in them and consider the rest to be land fill.

Stick with the ty's,they are one of the best-if not,the best.

@cuzzer - nice one. good shop as well - svp. been using them awhile now myself. Apparently the best place in UK to get TY's but i'm happy with the £8 for my 25tubs of datalifeplus's.

Hello I've been backing up for some time now and I use dvddecrypter 1st. Then I use dvd shrink to analize and decode and also have it set up so decrpter burns also. I use ritek media and have a Micro Advantage that has all the latest even d/l. Have real good luck with my jobs. Hope this might help out. Rex

I use the Pioneer 109 at work, which is as far as I know using the non-official firmware from Liggy&Dee.

We've used well over 100 of the Datawrite Titanium printable top 8x disks now and not had a single failure.... which makes me think it's not the media at fault here.

If you want to put your neck out a little, I'd personally look at updating the firmware with a hacked version, which are usuaully far more optimized for current media as well as improving general performance of the drive.
