Not to worry maskeeta - let's get you burning again and we'll teach all about booktyping Very Easy But yep you're on the right track - makes the a +r appear as a dvd-rom - almost universally compatible. @rbrock 25 bucks if you don't count the cost of the cable
im gonna be putting this drive in tonight. so do i want the dvd-rom on the master cable witht he jumper on master and the burner on the slave with the jumper on slave?
YES!!! just had my first succesful burn! Nero only gave me the options to burn at 8x and 6x. i usually burn at 2.4 and 4, ya think this will matter Thanks for everyones help
Nero automatically cvhanged the booktype to DVD-ROM. but in DVD Decrypter when I right click on the Destination drive it doesnt give me an option to change the booktype. it says it in Imgburn though, are those basically the same and should i use imgburn from now on?
Hey maskeeta Wow! You are burning again Good deal. Probably learned a bit in the process too With this drive and the verb (?) media you were using 6x or 8x should be fine to burn at. Try 6x and see if your dvd player is fine w/ it. Ok Decrypter and ImgBurn are basically the same - same developer. Decrypter (no longer updated) will also rip though. ImgBurn can't but it can convert a video_ts folder to iso and burn. Decrypter can only burn iso files. I use them both - just depends. In Decrypter & ImgBurn click on what looks like a book (see pic of decrypter - both are the same) for booktyping. Thn pick the drive, media type & settings
@maskeeta Burn them at 6x - 2.4x is a bit too slow imo. The 16x Verbs you were using will probably do better at a higher speed. The 8x too. As long as you players play them you are good to go. 8x is the slowest I burn - and no playback problems on the good media.
could not agree more, 1/2 speed is the best!!! alot of people think slower is better, NOT true with the newer drives. They burn very effectively up to 32x
hey binkie yes, it's me, my daghter has been working on her thing using my puter, kinda got a "question mark" going on there? but yes, multidrives, fully capable for 32x on cd's, not recommended, (nor available) for dvd, such as dprincess's.
Ok Nero63 Now I gotcha! Posts in the other thread even sounded different - so I was a bit confused (not hard for me - lol) I'm straight now @maskeeta Keep us posted on how burning at 6x or 8x does for you.
