i also have the Twisted Metal game and hav had several problems with acess to some rooms with the online server games. However, the easiest option i found was to just create my own game and wait fo people to join! However, i find teh invalid games are intermittent, sometimes you can get access, sometimes you cant, this is usually to do with a timeout on the server with too many people trying to join at the same time, so on the third or fourth attempt you usually manage to get in. As for the PING, there is no written description, but i believe it to be the rank. (i.e 1 is the best, going to 9999) the more and better you play, you go up the ranks, I THINK.

ok, strnge.. another thought. I found on another post on the internet people were complaining about Twisted Metal not working with routers that had WEP encryption, if your router has this, you could try disabling it temporarily to see if it helps. In which case, you may need to perform a network update from the main menu under SETTINGS. If not... im stumped

if ti says there is no encryption, this means that anyone with a wirelss deivce (pc / laptop/ psp) should be able to access it without entering a password. So from a security point of view, it's best to add encryption, (if supported by the router). You'll have to consult your manufacturers booklet on how to do that! Tho it gives no reason for why your psp shouldn't be able to get access to it. It must just be a problem with TMHO.

Out of interest? Do other games connect or the network update find teh router and connect?

    mmm.. not sure then.
Maybe you should try getting a refund or getting a specialist to look at it?
Not really sure what else to recommend

a rather random off topic question? but im thinking of chipping or modding my original ps2 console. I have been on google etc looking for different methods and am interestd in using the swapmagic discs and slide card combo to play personal backup discs on my ps2. Does anyone have one or know of one? If so, how easy are they to install / use? Also, anyone know of a good piece of software o use to copy the discs?

i have on. it is acually extremely easy to use. what u do is. you know the top of the cd drive on the ps2 with the ps logo. you need to remove that but it can be done with your hands. you just pop it off and if it breks it is okay. then you place the cd or dvd into the disk drive and play it. it will say some thing like swap disk now. then you place the key into the the open space where you removed the top and find a small white pin. slide up and manually pull the drive out and swap. press back in and move the pin back down and press x and it will play. the install ation only takes 5 minutes. plus it does not burn out the ps2 laser like a modchip and does not require soldering. i only own the disks. i made the swap key out of a credit card but i think u should buy becuaseits only 5 bucks more and it is safer.
