The original movie plays fine on my TV what would cause the copy to be different?

Hey flip218 my situation is resolved: found out my cat likes to use my video jack as a chew toy. For some reason everytime I played a purchased movie(stored next to my DVD player) I must had bumped the cable just right and the copies I didn't until last night. Replaced cables and kitty proofed them all is well. Thanks to all for your input

Also try to burn at a slower speed (2x or 2.4x), The slower you burn a DVD the better ... (usually but not always so no one kill me over tah statement)
