I have never had this problem before until yesterday. All of my avi file was working fine. Now all of them wont render/play at all. All I did yesterday was update my graphic card drivers. Now all of my avi wont play on Windows Media Player or WMP classic. I can only play it with VLC and personally I dont like using VLC. I tried using GSpot and got "Error: 0x80040218 VFW_E_CANNOT_RENDER" error. I've read that saving the file again using virtual dub may fix the problem but I have hundreds of avi file and it would take ages to save them all again using virtual dub. I tried it once though and it still didnt work.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

That's tricky. Are you sure you done it properly? As in, did you get the right drivers and installed them properly?

Yup, done it a hundred times before. Everything else seems to work. Playing game is fine as well. I am not sure whether installing graphic driver have anything to do with my problem, just saying that was all I did yesterday.
