ok first of all i'm brand new to the dvd ripping scene and i completed my first actual rip from an avi file to play it on my dvd player....so i was watching the movie and it's obvious the audio is messed up. The voices go before they move their mouths, so by the end of a sentence on the movie they just start moving their mouths to say what was just said...i'm sure this is probably not a big problem to fix but it's obnoxious trying to watch a movie like that and would like to know how to fix it. Thanks guys and gals for the replies i appreciate it.

If this was an AVI converted to DVD, try this.
It outputs the files to a DVD compliant folder.
You can use your software player to check the sync, then use your burning program to put on DVD.

    http://dl.afterdawn.com/vsoDivxToDVD_setup_v0.5.2b.exe
Import the file(s) (AVI, MPEG, VOB)
Output (standard DVD file format) to a folder on the HDD.
Set 'Aspect' to 4:3 (if you have a regular tv)
Set 'Standard' to NTSC (if you live in North America)
