Hi, I have an avi file I want to convert to a suitable format for burning to a DVD+R, and was using this guide last night: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_avi_to_dvd.cfm Everything went fine up untill the part where you leave TMPGEnc to encode the file, which took about 9 hours. When it was finished there was only a .mpg file, but I need a .m2v and a .mp2 file for IFOEdit. I messed around with IFOEdit for a while to no avail. What do I need to do to make this work with IFOEdit and then be able to burn it to a DVD+R? I have all the codecs the guide said to download, and the audio on the .avi file is mp3, not AC3. I did quite a bit of searching and reading the forums before posting this, but if I missed a similar post please provide a link for me. Thanks, Simkinn EDIT: My apologies, I just noticed the line that says to check off individual streams when encoding (after several times re-reading the guide :s), so problem solved.
The guide shows a process using IFOEdit for the Authoring Software. I think a better solution is to use TMPGEnc DVD Author as the authoring software. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd-r_tools/tmpgenc_dvd_author.cfm Then it doesn't matter if you have a single .mpg file or separate .m2v and .mp2 files.
