    Hi,
I just got a dvd burner for christmas. I am tring to back up white chicks. Whenever I burn a copy (with the help of anydvd), it will freeze in about 12-20% or with clonedvd(2) it will freeze in about 80%. The disk is brand new. I have tried burning with no success with:
    Intervideo DVDCOPY
    DVD Shrink
    Dvd Decryptor
    CloneDvd
    CloneDVD2
I am using dvd-r disks. All they say on them is "Value Disk". I bought those from Office Max. I have blown through about 10 disks using different burning methods and hope somebody could help me.

Is your problem with burning or reading?

Can you successfully rip to HD w/ DVD Decrypter?

Hello kurtucky, your reply of yes on flip218's questions: Which of the 2 questions did you say yes to?

    Burning?
    Ripping?

Quite a big difference when trying to get this issue solved and get you on your way to dvd burning.

I also noted you use "VALUE - DISCS".

    Check those discs here: http://www.dvdinfopro.com

Tell us what code they are along with how you are trying to backup white chicks.

Nero and dvd shrink is all I used to backup whitechicks.

Also, get some rw's to practice with so you don't waste any more discs.

Don't be shy, the more info we get,the better: other burning and ripping software you didn't list,pc specs, and burner brand and model #. Later

Well after re-reading your post I see your problem is with burning.

Now after it freezes do you get any error messages?

no accually i dont have any error messages. what happens is the software will just stop responding and my burner (sony dru-710a) will just keep on doing something (the light just flashes). the only way to get my burner to start responding again is to manually power down the computer and start up again. i am using windows xp sp1, i have a amd 2800 cpu (64bit series), 512 megs of ram. i just got a new 200gb hard drive and will start with a new install of windows xp. maybe that will fix it.
