    Hi,

I have a strange problem with converting an avi-file
into an mpeg1-file. tmpeg doesn't recognize the audio part of the file, although it is "Mpeg-1 audio Layer 1". Normally I can correct that problem with VirtualDub, but with this file I get the message that it can't find the audio decompressor. The strange thing is, I can play this file without problems with the media player. What can I do ?

    Thanks
    Tobias

The problem also ocourred to me. I cannot explain this, but I found a trick. Encode the file with WinMPG, choose 'AVI to MPEG1' and use the WinMPG's output as TMPGenc's Audio Input when you encode the original movie to MPG. The file will be ugly (for unregistered users, afer 10 conversions), but the audio part will be OK. The final MPEG will be perfect.
