I got a Lite On Burner a month ago, never burned anything.

I tried to burn in Nero, after I press burn the Program caches files, then is listed as not responding.

In DVD Decrypter, it sets write speed and doesn't change...

CDR's work on it, but when I put DVDR Media in it (blank) the drive in My computer changes from DVDRW Drive to CD Drive.

I called Lite on and they have told me to send it in to get it replaced (worst customer support I've ever encountered)

So I'm just wondering if It's the drive and send it to Lite on, or if somethign can be done. Thanks

    KJM37 ,
Lets try this. Get any old Commercial DVD you have and insert it in the DVD -rom or burner and rip the movie to the C: Drive.
While you are at it D/L the Trial version Of Nero Ultra ( free trial version that expires at the end of the month but you can uninstall it completely and the re-install the program free)

Set Up Guide for DVD Decrypter

    1. Insert Movie

    2. When Windows asks if you want to play movie hit cancel

    3. Open DVDDecrypter

    4. At top is MODE- make sure FILE has a check mark by it

    5. At the bottom is a DVD > HD- Click this and the program will decrypt the movie

Now you are 1/2 the way done.

Go to the link below and use DVDShrink to compress the movie.
If Nero has been d/l'd then Shrink will use Nero to burn to the DVD

Uf the above fails then send the drive back as it is bad
