maybe you should consider VideoDrive. It allows you to put any video in iTunes without going through the hassle of converting videos. it puts any video immediately in iTunes. You can choose to keep the videos on their original location, or put them in the iTunes folder. It's available at www.aroona.net. It imported 99% of my vids without any issues. You just have to make sure the video plays correctly in QuickTime. If that's the case, it should work fine.
