Problem with my DVD RW drive.

    i'm sure i'd replied that it was worth going with fishily's suggestion and it was just that i hadn't come across that issue personally but since fishily's suggestion i had found some info about and could see where he was coming from.

    my Reply must have gone when afterdawn had to restore the posts.

    same problem here

    new flatcable
    5 writingprograms
    no crap DVDs

    CDs no problem R&W
    DVD + / - / W / RW
    Reading is ok
    No writing , capacity is always zero -0-

    i have tryed -851S.GS0C-GS0F-GS0H-GS0K.patched-rs-

    Same problem if i use the drive on another computer.

    thx i removed the -p firmware
    The drive made only clicking sounds

    not sure if this will help but it worked for me ..... my problems were dvd burner just stopped working with nero, just would'nt burn any more, dvd would play sometimes and sometimes not, in the device manger every thing said ok but the dvd recorder was useless,

    try this link if your using xp, when it worked for me i opened up a bottle of 12 year old single malt ... thats how happy i was

    did not work

    only the clicking started faster ... :(

    I think i go for a new drive.

    if we've covered everything else then the clicking sounds might be the best clue you're gonna get!
