ok my girlfriends computer is f**ked up and these are the symptoms

    1.on startup multiple beep
2.when starts up start menu opens
    3.C:/windows/byvuvs.dll is missing
4.then the start menu continuously opens and closes and the icons of the taskbar highlight themselves
5.cant type nething at all even with on screen keyboard and certain things cant be clicked on

also sometimes these problems disappear then reappear

theres an initial soft beep then right after that theres a series of rapid beeps she said maybe 12 beeps but they were too fast to count and as for the ram she wouldnt be able to try that until late next week

It seems to be a RAM problem. Reformating wont solve the post beeps but if the windows errors are unrelated(probably aren't) formating will probably fix those.

Why, RAM can go bad just as easily as any other part of your PC, or were you being sarcastic?
