problemo with cd writing?

    I have a 500a sony dvd burner and I can burn dvd's all day with no problem, however if I try to burn a cd using nero 6.0 and burning rom I get a serious windows error, it says Kernal_data_inpage_error. I am really stumped as everything works great with dvd, does anyone have a clue to this problem? I use xp pro sp1 nero 6.0, thanks for any response
