I notice that when the backup is placed in the DVD player, when it tries to start up, the counter is stuck at 1 second for about 15 seconds before the movie starts. I don't think that you will be able to trim it if it's not actually counting during the blank spot. That's just the way I have come to know.

    Just my .02

this movie was very easy to backup........ I used DVDDecryter to rip, DVDRebuilder Pro to make to a DVD-5, and CopytoDVD to burn and it was done soooooo easily! I also tried DVDFAb Express and it burned nicely, too, to a DVD+RW! Nothing special about this movie!

    ic99fly,

[bold]I myself have personally done the trimming feature on this[/bold] - after seeing that they had the problem. 1st I did movie only mode and did encounter some problems - on one player it just stayed stuck forever. On a different player it stuck for about 10 seconds then played, and (now this is really funny ---->) On my OLDEST - old-as-dirt dvd player - it played flawlessly.

[bold]Therefore, I went back, trimmed out the black spot of the movie in Nero Recode, and made the movie start without the black spot there, and there were no problems on any of the players.

It CAN be done and it is very easy to do..[/bold]

PS - you do not have to have nero Reode to do this - this can be done in shrink also - in the REAUTHOR section - with the start/end frame icon.

    ---------------------------
Oh and FYI - When i backed up the full movie that problem did not occur at all

    ----------------------------
    IHoe,

I believe there are different "copies" of this movie out because I have read MANY posts of ppl using the exact same software together where some have problems and some do not. I used Anydvd and [bold]did[/bold] have problems whereas some ppl did the same thing and did not, and others claimed they had problems also. I ended up ripping it to HD via AnyDVD with the help of FAB Decryptor. then i had to compress it through SHRINK.

I was able to back it up to the HD, but nero would never pull it up w/o error. Same with Clonedvd. All my software was updated. I had never had any of those problems before.

[bold]I had to take it/finish it through Shrink to get it done Initially.[/bold]
Only then was I able to put it through recode to make other adjustments (Which at that point I was just playing around trying to see what would and would not work)

@zhelpz-------Like I said...... DVDDecryter is still king...... it ripped without a hitch to the hard drive....... then I used DVDRebuilder Pro, movie only, and it came out great! I also did the same movie with DVDFab Express and it worked just fine! And I don't believe that a movie company would make different versions of the same movie...... that some would have different protections than other disks with the same movie!!! The only thing that I can think of is the different regions...... maybe the people having problems with this movie are in a certain region or have something in their computer that are making conflits with this movie! who knows..... I must be a lucky one!

    Ihoe -

Yep what you said - When I said different ones I meant from the various regions - but I think you "spoke it" much clearer than I *L*

But you arent just one of the lucky ones - its alot of ppl who just did not have problems - maybe we are the unlucky's *L*

Anyway, I am just posting to try to help whomever is reading, just in case it can be helpful.

Speaking of Rebuilder Pro - I have recently DLed the FREEWARE version, have not had a chance to play around with it yet, but I have heard nothing but good things about that program.

    hello,
I have read through all the discussions about backing up Stealth and I still dont know what I am doing wrong. I am new at this so of course I dont understand everything being talked about. I have DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, DVD X Copy, and I just downloaded the Cinema Craft Encoder SP (no idea how to use this). Can someone walk me step by step on how to get these move backed up. Everytime I use the Decrypter I get an error... something in my settings maybe? Please help if you can. Thanks

@mossymo....... all newbies should read this thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/183136
follow the guides of BBMayo and/or Subba Pete..... they are the best! The guides will show you the way to back up your movie properly. If you still have problems please post a new thread and ask for help. Be explicit on what your problem is. Many problems can be avoided by using good media: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
the media guide in the above thread will show you what to buy.... and the price is the same for bad media as well as good media! If you stick with Taiyo Yuden (you can buy these online at places like: supermediastore.com, rima.com and other sites), Verbatim, Sony, Maxell.... you can't go wrong with those. By using the better media you can eleminating a disk problem and move on to solve other problems that might arise! you can download free programs to identify your media such as: DVDInfo Pro (www.DVDInfoPro.com), DVDIdentifier (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/dvd_identifier.cfm) and others.

So in closing ..... read the guides, use good media (don't burn higher than 4x---will save a lot of headaches later) and happy burning! If you do run into problems later.... just ask in a NEW thread! We will help you!
