I have been trying to burn some DVDs the past few days, most notably AVI files onto Sony DVD-R discs.

I have two problems. When I try to burn multiple video files on to one disc when played the sound comes a good 5 or 6 seconds before the video which accompanies it, this only happens when writing multiple files to a disc with a menu.

Second problem is, every one of my discs with one file seem to skip at some points, as if the disc is damaged.

If I was to convert the files before burning to a more suitable format, what wouldl be the best format to encode them in, and what program would I be able to use to do it (I have no problem with buying software) and what program would be best suited for me to use to burn the files to disc once encoded?

Use Nero Vision. It does the conversion and burns the output. If you still have problems, it may be your source.

Is the audio and video in sync on the AVI source?
