Your firmware is 4 versions behind, the latest firmware is B7W9, here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1905 Nothing major, but you're pretty low on memory. It's wise to add another 512MB, however, the choice is yours. Hmmm... sounds like you're trying to backup an encrypted CD. Nero won't do encrypted CD or DVD, you'll need to get rid of the encrypted protection first, then continue on with Nero. I don't recommend burning or copy on-the-fly. That's a bad sign. Best of luck!!
thanks for promt reply alkohol,it is a friends comp. which i will have access to on friday when i will update the firmware and let him make a decision about the increase in memory.re the encrypted dvd,it was a backup which had been done through dvd decrypter and dvd shrink, would the encryption not have been removed already?
Also if you're trying to copy a copy, if the copy is corrupted you'll not be able to copy it. Is it on a Memorex disc or what? If you have Nero, Look in tool kit and open Nero CD DVD speed and run the disc quality, if supported, or Scan Disc. This will tell you condition of original copy.
