problems installing MD-16XDVD9-EXT

    When I installed my DVD burner (Megastor 7 in 1) the drive did not show up in my computer. I called MDMM, but no help. I followed all directions, but nothing.

    at what position in the motherboard is it? primary ide or secondary ide?

    and is it on its own ide cable?

    have you set the jumpers correctly? for master or slave?

    It's connected by a USB, which I only have on of.

    What are your computer specs and your operating system? Do you have USB 1.1 or 2.0? Your dvd burner specs state that this drive is backward compatible, meaning it should work on 1.1.
