Okay, the posts I have read from slysoft back a couple of months just stated use the Elby but I have left mine. And in order to have the Elby you would need to dl Clone, so I just figured it was a way to get you to use the product, which I have anyway.
A couple of months ago was the first time I really noticed Slysoft putting the preferred settings in the change log for DVD Decrypter. It came about the same time the ripper was introduced. I guess that's one of the reasons I remember where I saw it. That's how I knew it was either SPTI or Elby.
Here is the thread I read, so I just took it to mean use the elby, in the long run it does not matter as long is it works http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.php?p=1229938&postcount=26
I see what you mean, but that was just a mods take on it at CDFreaks. That's no better than someone here at AD saying the same. Slysoft only recommends the 3 settings mentioned according to the 2/06 change log for version 5.9.1.1. That's the most recent mention of DVD Decrypter directly from Slysoft that I've seen. With those settings there's fewer unnecessary error messages and AnyDVD works with DVD Decrypter in any mode that way.
@brobear nice debating with ya last night, i'm signing off this thread as it just keeps going round and round and all info needed to help anybody is already posted. CYA with next weeks probs perhaps. happy burning mcmenace
For anyone interested DVDFab Decrypter has an update that came out, now version 2.9.7.5 http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm
That just came out in the theaters here, they certainly are ahead of themselves on protection for this movie.
FYI......... New features in this release: Slysoft AnyDVD v5.9.5.3 - New: Added support for new versions of the Sony Arccos protection to the option to remove "Protection based on unreadable Sectors" - New: Structural protection removal has been significantly enhanced, protected cells are now completely removed from the beginning of the protected titles (ArccoS, PuppetLock & MacroVision RipGuard protections). This greatly improves compatibility with 3rd party tools like DVDShrink, Nero Recode and others. Using additional tools like VobBlanker should no longer be required. - New: Added automatic removal of bogus program chains from title sets - New: Added automatic removal of bogus title sets - New: Added option to remove unreferenced and blank cells to the AnyDVD ripper (enabled by default) - New: Added vertical scrollbar to the information window - Change: Safe mode is now enabled by default after a fresh installation. - Fix: Incorrect decryption after wake up from S3 power saving - Fix: Incorrect drive speed after wake up from S3 power saving - Fix: Some bad sector protections were removed even if the option to remove "Protection based on unreadable Sectors" was disabled - Fix: Jump to main title did not work, if source disc contained one small title, e.g. a short video clip mcmenace
Ok, when i get home from work, I'll try to burn king kong again. I have DvdDecrypter, AnyDVd, Dvdclone2, and Dvdshrink. Yesterday I used DvdDecrypter and DvdShrink, and it burned ok on my DL disk, but the quality of the movie was bad. I see your posts about using AnyDVD and DvdClone, but what do I actually have to do? I was messing around with DVDclone, and it seemed like it would rip the movie onto my HD, and then I put in my Verbatim dvd+R DL disk and it would burn it on. Is that all I have to do? Would that work, or do I have to use AnyDvd and Dvdclone? I dont really want to put it on 2 regular Dvd+Rs.
I have DVD X Copy GOLD, DVD X COPY XPRESS, DVD Shrink, AnyDVD, DVD Decrypter, and DVDFAB. I have tried them all in several different congifurations and I can't get Narnia to copy. I bought the extended edition. The bonus disc copied fine, but the movie won't. Not sure what gives. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you have any ?'s for me to help narrow down the problem let me know. bmfr79
The Narnia disc had issues with DVD X Platimum + ANYDVD as well as CD CLONER 3 + ANYDVD. Finally ran DVDFab Gold + ANYDVD and kicked Narnia's ass. DVD X Platinum + ANYDVD is still the best, but cannot copy a copy that it has made.
you don't need fab gold, just read the whole thread, use just DVDFfab Decrypter the free one for instance
@jdawg2112 If it cant copy a copy how can you say its the best??!!!! @ those with problems copying narnia or ANY other movie..... Guys, either read earlier posts and pay attention to them, or simply get clonedvd2, anydvd and thats all there is to it, you'll get a crisp, clear copy in less than 1/2 hour, guaranteed. no muss, no fuss. That combo is by far the best and easiest and most reliable and.......you get the idea. When you put disc in, anydvd should pop up, make sure it sees the movie, if it does, forget about it as it does its thing on the fly, if it doesnt, you got a bad original. Then open clonedvd2 and select drive movie is in on pull down menu at top. On side, 1st pick gives you options to take out bonus stuff etc, 2nd pick "clonedvd" copies entire disk. Newbies should just use that one. Bar at bottom gives you picture quality. just go next, next, and click on drive blank is in, then say go and wait 1/2 hour, its that simple. Don't know what all the fuss is about, as this has been posted at least 4 or 5 times, by myself and others. gopher it!!! mcmenace
Well, that's the problem. I have read the entire thread, and several others. Things that I'm reading that have worked for other people, have NOT worked for me. I downloaded DVDFAB for free, I think it's the express version. It failed on every attempt. All the programs that I have tried to date lock up right around 49% completion. This seems to be the VTS 1_4 file. I did make the mistake of running AnyDVD while trying to use DVD Decrypter without adjusting the setting, so I'll try that. I was just hoping that someone could give me some insight into what the problem is and why others have been successfull using programs I have and I have not.
@bmfr79 Well apparently you didn't read or understand what has been said. The progs I mentioned both have free trials so If you're afraid to or can't afford to spend a couple bucks, you don't have to. If you do what I just said I guarantee you a working, clean, copy in a 1/2 our period. Forget about the other stuff, you're wasting your time. Those 2 will do the job quite nicely. Try them and get the movie or keep messing around, it's up to you, it's your dime, your time. People can tell you what works, but if you don't want to listen..... mcmenace
Hi all, I'm relative newcomer to backing up DVD's, but I just got Narnia with only the new version of DVDfab Decrpter and DVDshrink. Watching it now with no probs. I hope this helps.
For those who use DVDFab Decrypter dl the new version from the site, and rip and then process with Shrink. For those who have AnyDVD use the ripper that is built into the program it will rip file and fix the structure. For those with DVD Decrypter rip to your HDD and then use VobBlanker or FixVTS to repair the structure. If you want a dual layer backup use DVD Decrypter in iso read open the MDS file and do iso write, or use ImgBurn to do it. I have tried all these methods they work.
